Mostly because he honestly wanted to see Damien get his ass kicked for punching him back at the obstacle course. Either way it'd be interesting to see Ryouko in battle as well, considering he doesn't know much about his mutation. Perhaps he'll see another side to his personality as well other than the boring façade he's been giving off.
