These creatures have a deep divide between the male and female class and often times still partake in animalistic instincts such as eating mates. They are carnivorous and are willing to feed on any creature that moves, whether it be 10 times larger or a small rodent. Their prefered method of capturing such prey is through use of their extremely powerful spider-webs, called Qol’ Silk, which is far stronger than steel, rivaling even titanium. Female Qol’ are considered upper class, and far superior to that of their male counterparts, both physically and mentally. They stand at around 182 cm on average (their warrior class Qol’ can stand up to 213 cm.) Highly aggressive and adaptable, able to fight head on with most species as well as use their extreme maneuverability to climb objects such as trees to further their physical prowess in combat. Not only that, but the Qol’ have developed a method to use Qol’ Silk on their warriors acting as a body armor. Not all Female Qol’ are warriors however, some live to breed and feast. These Qol’ often times become the political leaders of the Qol’ government, what little government there is, loosely based off principles of monarchy and nobility. Often times after giving birth to children (anywhere between 10-20 at a time) they will devour the male breeder or they will die due to starvation. Methods to prevent starvation have been developed, however many female breeders find they prefer a more “natural” method. Male Qol’ are far different to their female counterparts. Far less deadly and strong they only stand at around 121 cm they are fragile, weak, and disposable. Often times they are used far more often as spies rather than soldiers due to their ability to quickly die and are extremely submissive to female Qol’ almost subservient. The majority of Male Qol’, unfortunately for them, are used to breed. They are far more likely to appear when female Qol’ give birth to children and after impregnating a female Qol’ will be wrapped in a cocoon like structure until birth is given. Afterwords the female will feed on the male Qol’. The Shamuta is not passed down through the generations however, it is elected by the ten elders or the ten oldest Qol’ (often females) alive. The Shamuta and Elders hold the greatest power in the entirety of the Cluster. The Shamuta dictates pretty much everything, who they are at war with, where they shall feast, what lands will be their breeding grounds, and what laws shall be placed into the Qol’. Though it is mostly lawless, it does hold basic principles such as no murdering, stealing from, or attacking other Qol’ without proper justification. The Elders are somewhat advisers to the Shamuta, revered for their advice and often considered an essential part of the Qol’ government even though they do very little. The group consists of 10 elders often aged between 140-180 years, the oldest ever elder reached 200, but never has this been achieved again. The next are the breeders, they are the female Qol’ expected to produce and give birth to children and are treated with care. They often see very little danger and often times it is the Breeders who live long enough to make it onto the Elders council, where they will live the rest of their lives advising the Shamuta. Soon after are the warriors, the female Qol’ who hunt, fight, and die in service of the cluster. They are often times monstrous and much stronger than breeders. They have the honor of being eligible for becoming the next Shamuta once the current one dies. Often times the strongest or most renown of the Warrior class are selected. The rest however will most likely die before they reach the age of 100. Next comes the Male Warriors of the Qol’. They are often times the spies or cannon fodder of the Qol’ forces. They are not seen as honourable as any female class, but they are respected in their cunning and willingness to die in the name of their Shamuta, a quality respected, if not revered in the Qol’. The Second lowest class are the Male Breeders, expected to die not longer after birth. They have the shortest of lifespans among all the Qol’ at nearly 40 years (20 years become eligible to breed). Sometimes a small few are chosen to move up to the warrior class or even breed with the queen. The lowest class are the undesirables, or simply Qol’ that are incapable of being useful or are shunned from society. If seen often times they are hunted or killed, a Qol’ that is given the class of undesirable has had to committed a grave offence against the Qol’ and are fair game to murderous Warriors. History The Qol’ have existed for several thousand years, and have slowly grown to become the most dominant species on their planet due to their physical and mental capabilities exceeding that of most species on Saezjae. They have known only a world where it is eat or be eaten and thus survive on waves of death and destruction. It wasn’t until Saezjae the first Shamuta, whom the planet was named after, that they finally transcended that need to hunt and instead settled. Over the next few thousand years they grew, technologically and physically. Their hierarchical style government soon came into full fruition by the time of 2100 and ever since the Qol’ have grown even more vastly superior. Developing weapons, new armor, and most recently theories of interstellar travel. What lies deep in the black sky the Shamuta does not know, but the elder advise her that this will become a feast the Qol’ have never seen before. Only time will tell what kind of empire the Qol’ will build.
