SUBSEQUENT COLONIES: N/A CIVILIZATION DESCRIPTION: Physical Description The Oomaloo are androgynous humanoids with taught, powder blue skin stretched over boney faces and frames. They are large, much larger than (humans) with three large black eyes arranged in a triangle on their faces. Small noses and wide mouths with black teeth. They are hairless, and have difficulty hearing through their small underdeveloped ears. They adorn their bodies with the black and white religious tattoos of the global religion known as JAI. Personality The Oomaloo are devoted to seeking the truths of the universe and reflect a calm outward demeanor. They are soft spoken, empathetic and curious. They have developed systems of emotional engagement that follow strict religious guidelines among their people. They refute war and personal gain. They seek the knowledge of the universe and wish to preserve peace among themselves. But they are not stupid. Their societies, free of war and unrest have in recent centuries experienced a renaissance of scientific and virtuous advance. Philosophy and Agriculture are two of the more popular devotions of young Oomaloo. Ethics, morality and discourse are the fibre of their culture. The Oomaloo have rid themselves of the barbarity of a carnivorous diet, banned technologies that pollute and waste and looked to the stars as the next great advance in learning and knowledge. History The Oomaloo were not always such enlightened creatures. Their history is marred by historical prejudice, even slavery. Wars of resource and territory were the worst. By the year 908, Standard Po reckoning, a young Oomaloo scion named JAI appears in the historical record. His sermons promote a reflective disposition, communion with nature and most importantly harmony and peace with all things. In a few short centuries war was scarce, resources were devoted to agriculture and science and technology and a new era descended upon the Oomaloo with the prophet JAI at its very core.
