I'd like to see an older, more mature, countess. Court Magician comes with some requirements, such as experience and skill, and with barely 50 years under yer belt as a Dark Elf you're barely a child. Use your characters long-lived nature to get yourself some fancy skills. 
Your master could have trained her to hold his position nigh permanently.
