Sorry to triple-post, but here's my CS, a CS that I'm not going to be using for at least a month. Name: Ascot Carver Age: 13 Gender: Male Appearance Personality Ascot cares for people, to the point where it can get him hurt. He values his friendships, being willing to go to great lengths for even relatively new friends. While he has the fears and insecurities of someone his age, he can overcome them if people are at stake. His outward demeanor is generally lighthearted, and the boy is relatively open to people he finds morally light grey. However, he has a tendency to ignore the rules banning Keybladers from interfering with other worlds, due to his backstory. Despite reprimands, he continues on this business with conviction to match those who reprimand him, although he has enough prudence not to spill any Multiversal Lore that can lead to a Third Keyblade War. The reason for ignoring the rules? Read below. History Ascot comes from a version of the Puella Magi Madoka Magica world where 1.) Boys can become Magical Boys, and 2.) Love does not corrupt Soul Gems*, only Despair and using up one's magical power. To fully spell out the implications of this, here's a brief summary: In the PMMM verse, a creature called an Incubator offers a Girl a contract, in which she has a wish granted in exchange for her becoming a Magical Girl, or Puella Magi, who fights monsters called Witches. Each Puella Magi gets a Soul Gem, an artifact that grants them unique powers, such as conjuring up guns out of thin air, the ability to regenerate, or the ability to cast illusions. Every use of the Soul Gem blackens it, unless it is placed in contact with a Grief Seed, an artifact that Witches drop. Sounds simple? Well, it turns out, Soul Gems literally contain the souls of the Puella Magi; their bodies are actually in an undead state, but are still able to do the normal functions of life, such as eat, sleep, and, most importantly, reproduce. However, there is also a deeper, darker secret: Witches are actually Puella Magi whose Soul Gems have blackened, not just from overuse, but also from despair. Most of the time, said despair comes from the Magical Girl's wishes going very, very, wrong. Once a Magical Girl becomes a Witch, there is no turning back; she is an Eldritch Abdomination who wants to eat human souls. As mentioned, boys in Ascot's world can also become Magical Boys, or Puer Magus, who share the same fate as Magical Girls. Puer Magus are rarer than Puella Magi, because the Incubators recruit mostly from the opressed communities of the world, mostly women, and women are more oppresssed than men. Nevertheless, Ascot's father, Arthur, managed to have a bad enough life that he was able to be offered a wish. His wish was: to escape the life he had grown up in. Ascot's mother, Elizabeth, meanwhile, was someone whose wish had been to survive an otherwise fatal illness. They met when hunting witches, and, after deciding to team up, became so good at what they did that they survived to grow up, and raise a family together. Because their undead bodies were still able to biologically reproduce, they managed to give birth to one boy, Ascot himself. Ascot quickly advanced in learning, especially in the subjects of History and Literature. He was able to read books that were above his age level, and grasp concepts that were normally part of the adult world. Not merely that, but he was also physically accomplished, having learned Eskrima for self-defense, as well as being part of the track team. Everything sounded good, if not for the fact that the Incubators decided that it was time for his parents' career to end. One day, while Ascot was going out with his parents in the park, they were attacked by four Magical Boys and Girls with a vendetta against the family, and a fierce magical battle ensued, Ascot's first true experience of war and magic. When the smoke cleared, the boy's parents were revealed to have won...but had depleted their magical powers as a result. Thus, Ascot had to witness the 'spectacle' of his parents turning into Witches... Then, one of the Incubators came to him, promising him that he can wish his parents back to normal...if he became a Magical Boy. Ascot was tempted, very tempted, but he had seen what his parents had become, and knew that their fate would just become his, and no one would win. No one ever won in a system like this, the boy knew, so he decided to do what he can to defy the system: take up a stick, and smash the Incubator with it. What he didn't expect was for the stick to turn into a Keyblade, a weapon of Multiversal power and significance that had never been seen in that world before. With it, he was able to confront his parents, and, surprisngly to all, turn them back to humans. As he tearfully reunited with his parents, the Incubators took note of this development, and made their own plans to save their system. A few days later, four more Magical Girls and Boys came to abduct Ascot, but he was rescued by a group of Keyblade wielders, who had sensed the awakening of one of their number. After bringing Ascot back to his family, the Keybladers told the latter and the boy about what exactly the Keyblade was and what Keyblade wielders do, and said that Ascot would have to be taken to another world to use his weapon, as well as to save him from the Incubators. And so, began Ascot's soujourn in Disney Town... *In the PMMM Movie, Rebellion, love can corrupt Soul Gems, a twist that came out of left field.
