Character concept I'm playing with. Still a little more writing to do though. Just to show you where I'm at.

History: Bashir does not know where he was born, only that he and his mother were taken by pirates into slavery when he was 9 years old. The pirate who took them turned out to be a famous pirate king, with a fleet of 7 ships. He took Bashirs' mother, who was very beautiful as concubine and had Bashir chained up as a rower on the pirate kings flagship, [i]The Doubtful[/i].


Over the next few years, Bashir grew very strong. Hardened by dozens of battles and the endless toil of rowing, Bashir eventually managed to escape when the fleet was moored near shore one night. Meets a Jinn?

He never saw his mother again. 

Bashir wandered for the next few years, eventually returning to the sea as a sailor. He made a little money and began buying and selling trade goods. He made a lot [i]more[/i] money and became wealthy and even a little greedy. Bashir bought a ship, some more trade goods and became [i]really[/i] wealthy and greedy. And then the pirate king plundered Bashirs ships, killed his captains and returned him to poverty. Sullen and depressed, Bashir got a little crazy, signing onto ships that traveled the most treacherous, pirate filled waters.

Appearance: Bashir has the weathered complexion of a man who has spent his life at sea. His black hair is long, tied with colorful ribbons and often tucked neatly under his starch white turban. His facial features are wide and handsome with large bright brown eyes. His short, feathery beard hints at an immaturity and boyish charm. He wears baggy trousers, fastened with a wide leather belt with all assortment of dagger, knife, smoking pipe and blade tucked into it. His tunic is fine red silk with black trim. His vest is gold with silver lacing and adornment. He always carries a small flask of fresh water ever since he managed to escape a barren island his crew marooned him on.
