The very thought of having lost to him of all people causing mixed feelings to rush through her; though she held no ill intent towards her best friend. Stooping her head ever so slightly, Ky’ vie shook it lightly from side to side, a gentle chuckle falling out and through her soft pink lips as she slowly lifted herself back up to her feet, taking only a few more moments to herself before finally, she lifted her gaze to once more rest upon his figure- well, if she was meant to be knocked from her throne, she was glad at least that it was him who had managed to finally do it. Bending her knees lightly, she pushed herself up from where she stood on the platform below him, the ball of her foot pressing against the tower itself to give her the extra momentum she needed as she reached out and took a hold of the top platform; the young red-head using the strength within her arms to hoist herself up so that she was instead standing tall beside him, a bright and proud smile lighting up her features as she leant in, knocking her shoulder playfully up against his own in an attempt to get his attention. “Who knew that out of everyone; you would be the one that I had to look out for... Haha- must have been due to that incentive I gave you this morning... So tell me; what am I losing from my collection today..?” Griffin reveled in his victory with visible glee, saving a short word or quip for every congratulatory response he received. Finally turning towards Ky, the Irishman raised his brows most inquisitively at her reaction. "Suppose having the god of athletes as your father comes in handy." Griffin replied with a smirk before addressing her second question. "That, my dear....remains to be seen. My oh my, so many goodies to choose from." Snickering, Griffin wiped a thin layer of sweat from his brow before dusting off his jacket, music still blaring from his earbuds. It was a wonder he could speak, let alone hear with them on... Shaking her head softly from side to side in slight defeat, Ky couldn’t help the sweet and gentle chuckle that fell out through her lips, her hand reaching up and behind her head to let her hair out of the restraint the hair tie had over it; the long and bright apple red locks falling down to once more rest over her shoulders, “You... are going to be the death of my collection. Ah damn... I know I brought this one on myself-...” “Miss Kylie Montgomery. I suggest you stumble your way back down here, and take a seat with the rest of these lazy lumps- I have the unfortunate pleasure of calling my camp to meeting, and I need all ears on us.” Frowning heavily as his voice filled the area calling all the campers to order, Dionysus stuffed his hands further down into his pockets, completely ignoring the small group of satyrs that hurried forward with cans of diet coke held high within their hands as an offering to the God. “And you Mister Griffin... I expect you to do the same; but I assure you, you’re going to want to pay extra close attention to what it is that Chiron and I have to tell you all...” Raising a single brow in inquisition, Griffin pulled out his earbuds before stuffing them in his jacket pockets for safe-keeping. "Tell you what, I dunno if I'm going deaf, but I could've sworn you pronounced my name correctly....Must be dire." Griffin noted but nevertheless followed Ky off the tower to an open seat, the glint of victory still ever-present in his bright eyes. As Griffin moved off the tower, Chiron stepped forward, a look of soft apology clear on his creased, yet kind features. "What Lord Dionysus is trying to say is that we have received grave news from Olympus, and request your full attention for the time being." Pausing briefly for his words to settle and the murmurs of the campers to cease, Chiron continued. "Aphrodite's Dove has been stolen from Olympus by an unknown miscreant. Understandably, the gods are in uproar at the crime...and Hawley Griffin has been accused by Lord Ares as the guilty party." A wave of heightened whispers ran through the crowd of campers, many expressing disbelief, a small few agreeing with the accusation, and then some others (comprised mostly of Griffin's siblings) expressing awed reverence. Roy, himself slunk into the crowd, grabbed by one of the passing Satyrs as the Camp meeting was announced. Griffin's own blood ran cold instantly, goosebumps forming on his skin, his posture stiffening to the point it might snap. "Stealing from Aphrodite? The hell are they on up there! Bunch of all-mighty idiots that lot, blaming the first Hermes-kid they can because Luke gave them a thrashing back in the day, that's what!" Griffin ranted, his initial shock soon turning to vindictive anger at his accused transgressions. "Mr. Griffin, control yourself!" Chiron rebuked, an added sternness to his voice that was able to silence an unruly individual far better than shouting would ever do. "The gods have no proof that you were the thief, but insulting them will not do you any favors. Lord Zeus has decreed that you will have one week to find and return the Dove to Mount Olympus, wherein you will be acquitted of all indictments." "And if I can't find the damn bird in a week?" Griffin asked, indignance clear in his voice...but a hint of panic could be heard beneath the surface. "...Then you will be subject to the wrath of Lord Ares." Chiron responded quietly, bereavement quite heavy in his voice. Though he would certainly not voice such an opinion aloud, Chiron was no more angrier than Griffin was at the gods' decree. Camp Half-Blood was supposed to be a safe haven for young demigods to learn and to train. To hoist so mighty an accusation on one of the campers at the penalty of torture and destruction, Chiron could not fathom... “..let me go in his place, Chiron.” Clenching her jaw for a few moments as she felt the stares of everyone around her fall upon her person, Ky’ vie took a moment to glance around at them all, her metallic silver-blue eyes meeting with each and every one of them before lingering on those of her best friend- it was clear that Griffin was rattled by such a turn of events; sure he could be a right pain in the ass, but everyone knew that apart from his pranks, he was just as harmless as Erin was. Giving him a light nod of her head, Ky once more turned her attention back over to the God and the centaur that stood in front of the gathering of campers, “I’ll find the bird; and bring it back in the seven day limit-... there’s no way in Tartarus that I’m gunna let you take the rap for something you didn’t do, Grif.” “As noble as your intentions might be Miss Kylie; that is something that I cannot allow... This quest is Mr Hawley’s burden to bare; and if he chooses to allow you to go with him, then so be it. The more of you lazy lumps I get rid of looking after, the better; nothing would please me more.” Seemingly not even bothered by, and completely choosing to ignore the obviously annoyed and frustrated look that he was getting from Chiron at his words, Dionysus paused for a moment to glance over the large crowd of campers that was spewn out all over the stands, his brows furrowing in slight confusion as he seemingly searched around for a figure he couldn’t see before him, “Wait a moment... all right you blighters, where’s my daughter..?” “I’m here..!” Twisting his upper body around as he heard the familiar sound of his daughters voice floating back their way from somewhere over near the obstacle tower, Dionysus quirked his brow in slight surprise as he watched the tower turn slowly around and around before his eyes, Arianna’s figure dragged lightly along with it as she hung upside down by her foot on one of the rope ladders that led to the first platform; her long and wavy blonde locks gently flying out to the side, and what was obviously an empty flask held in her hand as she continued to go along with the ride, her voice lost each time she disappeared around the back of the construct. “It’s all good-... keep going and don’t-... mind me, I’m listen-.... ing- but before you-.... go any further-... does anyone have somet-... thing to drink..? Mine-... is empty...” Chiron raised a single brow in intrigue with the slightest twinge of amusement. "Could someone please help Ms. Watson down from the Tower? Thank you." He asked with a short nod of his head as two Campers hurried down to help the ditzy daughter of Dionysus. "Mr. Griffin, I know this news is highly shocking. But you must act immediately. You're allowed to recruit three campers to go with you on your journey - and you best begin packing immediately." With a grave nod of his head, Chiron conceded then to Griffin's judgement. Griffin let out a deep sigh, though instead of boredom he appeared to be obviously stressed. "Alright, alright. Well," Griffin moved to stand, grunting slightly with the movement as he stretched out a moment. "Ky's a given. And, I'll take....Gabriel, and Jessica." Griffin finished after a brief reprieve of thought, planting both hands in his jacket pockets. "Then it's decided!" Chiron spoke up, addressing the Camp as a whole now. "Undertaking the Quest for Aphrodite's Dove will be Hawley Griffin, Ky' vie Morgan, Gabriel Davidson, and Jessica Merrimont. If Lord Dionysus has nothing else, I suggest the Campers in question begin packing and finish any last-minute projects and activities." Quirking his eyebrow slightly in amusement as he watched the two campers who had been called to help run after his daughter as she was spun round and around by the tower, Dionysus turned his back to the crowd, his arms coming up to cross over his chest as he let himself get distracted... but only long enough for Chiron to once more drag him back into the politics of camp, “Hm..? Oh, yes.” Lifting one of his hands up from his side, Mr. D waved his hand dismissively at the thought while his head nodded up and down in agreement to whatever it was that Chiron had actually said, “Whatever... whatever’s fine with me; just let the brats get on their way already. Don’t waste the sunshine and all that other crap...”
