Ferrin Astra
Half of the people there seemed hell-bent on killing Ferrin, and they hadn't even got to know him first. THEN they probably would want to kill him. Or strangle him...then kill him. "Hey, Ferrin said to no one in particular. "I went trough all the trouble of a flashy entrance, and not a one of you even seem to care. How typical." Ferrin immediately noticed that the hole he had so gratiously made in the dome had been rudely repaired. On top of that, some cliche villan popped up, and spouted some nonsense (which Ferrin filed away) before doing what typical villans do, summon up some half-assed minions and running for their life. However, in doing so, Ferrin felt the magic, and it seemed identical to the one that lead him here...not to mention the smaller copies of the shadow beast seemed like a dead giveaway. However, one of the mages suddenly acted, kicking another, and raising some undead. Ferrin immediately recognized necromancy, which also explained the bone dome. This was backed by his manipulation of the substance. (Another dead giveaway, badump-ching) He shook his head to clear his thoughts. This is no time for levity. He was in danger, and he had to act fast. However, suddenly Ferrin found himself rooted to the ground. His breathing sped up, and he had trouble thinking straight. What...what the...what the hell? He felt trapped, and claustrophobic. The big monster cam roaring at him, whitch jolted Ferrin into motion. He hurredly lept to the side, narrowly avoiding the spike that he didn't see coming from his back. Whats wrong with me? He thought. Then, it came to him. It was just like that time... Then, too it smelled of damp, and rot, with undead coming at him, covered in shadow... Then, he was trapped, unable to move, unable to speak, unable to think...he fell into darkness, and lost everything he knew. Ferrin broke out in cold sweat. "Dammit, dammit, dammit, I rule my fears, they don't rule me!" He shouted. But his body was unconvinced. The corpses were coming in fast, and the shadow beasts where closing in too. Ferrin thew out his Gauntlet, gesturing toward the shadow beasts. "Illumina!" He exclaimed. A blast of light flew toward each of the the beasts, and burst on contact, dissolving them. With the shadow beasts gone, Ferrin and the other mage was able to focuse on the corpses. Doing his best to ignore his sudden, irrational fear, Ferrin ran toward the biggest one. Summoning his concentration, Ferrin shouted "Requip!" and Shiden EX, his sword, appeared in his hand. The monster roared and took a swipe at him. Ferrin remembered that night, and hesitated, for just a moment, and that cost him. The thing's arm hit him, like a truck and he was flung against the wall of the dome. His spell-lined coat protected him from most of the physical impact, and prevented the claws from piercing him, but it still hurt like hell. The shock and pain helped jolt Ferrin out of the past, and summoning up his magic, he put his fear to good use in a spell. Fortunately, the other mage lent a hand by slowing them down and hurting them with his light magic, giving Ferrin time to recover his wits. He took a step forward, and wheezed "Sword magic: Flare." The blade of his sword turned red and orange, then combusted. Flames sprung to life and danced along its length, in a beautiful display, also having the side effect of lighting up the area around him. The two corpses charged, thinking their prey was cornered. But Ferrin was done playing around. His face, a calm, expressionless mask, eerily void of the passion it usualy showed, Ferrin ran forward to meet them. The smaller one reached for him, but Ferrin gracefully sidestepped, spun and in the same motion, swepped his sword up. The thing's arm flew off, and the smell of cauterized flesh filled the air. Ferrin's next stroke came from behind it, and severed the ghoul's top from it's body. From bitter experience, Ferrin knew the durablity of creatures like that, so he didn't let his guard down as the top half tried to claw him. Ferrin stepped back, out of the range of it's flailing arms, and dispached it by thrusting his firebrand into its head, setting it ablaze, and ending it's unlife. The big one was still coming, and Ferrin oriented on it. He ran to meet it, sword held out, and parallel to the ground with the flames trailing behind it. His next attack would be similar to the smallar one, he would wait for it to attack, counter, and then dispach it.
