Form the moment her mech had hit the field Katya had decided she would not actively try to become the squads officer. The idea of ordering people around never really sat right with her. It didn't help that she was support unit and in the heat of battle trying to fight, fix and maintain sych pushed her pretty hard as it was. Add trying to run a squad Katya didn't think at this time she could do it. Maybe in time but not at this point. So the matter was simple for her. Who did she want to follow? Who could she place her trust in to lead her competently and the squad? This battle would naturally would decided that. But in the end it wasn't her choice and she was confident non of them would get a say in the matter after all they where just cadets. So as the other tried to work out a plans she simply listened only speaking to thank Elora for the map. Truth be told as other tried to work out plans Katya was deep in though the while she was ecstatic about not having a free for all among their group she was bothered by the fact she had to kill fellow humans. While she would do it and do it to the best of her abilities as she was ordered to it simply wouldn't sit right with her. "Just gotta suck it up. Orders are orders its them or us. They're not going to hesitate so I can't too. I can do it. It's simple just push the button and the mech will fire. I knew I'd have to do this..." She thought to herself repeating the same thoughts in her mind over and over, trying to make the idea not seem so bad. In the end it helped a little but she was still not happy with the idea it showing on her face with a small frown. Katya trying her best not to dwell on the idea right now she needed to concentrate at the task at hand. Hearing Sigma meant something called a strawberry cake helped pulled Katya out of her mind and made her forget mostly about what she was thinking about. As he thoughts shifted to wondering what strawberry cake was. "What's that?" she asked thinking out-loud as she made her mech move to join the others. When Ariin asked if she could back him on targeting. Katya thought for a moment weighing the idea up in her mind. Before nodding seeing it as the best idea. "I read you Paladin. I happy to help. Also I should note to all. I have the capacity to mark targets. This can used to make the enemy easier to detect or enable long range repairs. Just need a clean shot on a target." she stated moving Caretaker closer to Paladin, finding that mech's size compared to her own was rather intimidating. "That thing is a monster. I would love to see the hardware that drives it. I bet it take a whole team of engineers just to do a basic check. she thought feeling a pang of excitement at the mere idea. Reaching her position Katya watched as Ariin made the Paladin deploy it's shield. A look of awe plastered on her face as she watched it deploy into something three times it size and small ports opened up to allow mech to fire form behind. "Impressive shield." she muttered to herself approaching it placing the Marker Light in a firing port. Setting her targeting computer to constantly scan for targets that entered weapons range. While doing this she also checked her drones statues out of habit. Seeing all still read they where secure and fully charged Katya took a deep breath. The idea of hurting other people still didn't quite sit right with her. But now she was needed by the others Ariin needed her to deal with close targets so he could focus on dealing with ones at range. She had a job to do and a role to play and no matter what she would do it.
