London, present day, morning. Katya Moreno.... found that eating was next to impossible under the piercing gaze of the vampire that sat across the table from her at breakfast. His nearly white skin was so creepy in contrast to the color of decent, normal people. Not to mention he was a large creature, with broad shoulders and a firm jawline, with skin just thin enough to reveal the muscular detail of the muscles in his neck and jaw. His bite must've been strong. Those flashy yellow eyes of his fixed on her, barely masked by a pair of dark shades as she considered reaching for her coffee. ... Did he have to sit so fucking perfectly still? The diner-cafe was busy, or rather, it had been busy, until the Soldier squadron showed up. The Soldier organization wasn't exactly a big hit in the United Kingdom, since the country insisted it had the whole vampire-human conflict under control without them. And indeed, they appeared to. Somehow the UK, unlike most other nations, were able to rise victorious after the Nightwars and quell the vampire revolution without Soldier's aid, and therefore also without the aid of vampires. Humans ruled here, or at least they believed they did, and vampire incidents were extremely rare under the current system. It was almost a slap in the face to Soldier's claim to necessity in maintaining world order. If one country could control vampires without them, then they really had no reason to police the planet, and their worldwide influence would therefore eventually wane. Soldier headquarters didn't like that, and that was partially why they had sent this little envoy and two elite agents to London. Something fishy was going on, or so rumor had it. Rumor claimed that some obfuscated elder vampire had simply killed all the vampires in this land. Another claimed that vampires were secretly puppeting the government from afar. The truth was yet to be discovered. It was worth looking into, according to their superiors, and since Soldier didn't really have any more wars to fight, Mithias' group go stuck with the job. Mithias continued motionless, watching Katya attempt to eat. Sonja, Ashley, Allison, and Roman sat around the table as well, listening to the news report ramble on a tv screen overhead. "...for a nation run by vampires, they certainly haven't slowed down in technological advancement. Only in Japan folks, only in Japan. In other news, a string of recent attacks in Finland and Russia are calling Soldier's attention as the wave of killings move west..." Mithias didn't appear to be listening, but he was. "Are we quite finished with breakfast?" Mithias finally asked. "Good. Now it's time we address the matter at hand. As you know, we have been sent as a peace envoy to London to represent Solider and discuss peace tactics, however, our undisclosed mission is to seek out any and all vampire activity that could be interfering with local politics. You keep that piece of information to yourselves. Need I remind you that this is not a vacation. We'll be visiting Parliament, touring the Buckingham Palace, and meeting with high ranking law enforcement authorities during our stay. Soldier expects a detailed report upon our return. As your commander, I will be telling you when and where you are to leave the group and when and where to reconvene. Are there any questions?"
