AppearanceBlonde hair, golden hazel eyes 6'1" 180lbs Work attire: Comfortable Business Casual. In his traveling bag, Jem stores his bigger framed reading glasses. The ones his students call 'hip'. He got those on sale. His thinner framed glasses are by his bedside. He covers his arm tattoo (spiked wire, almost resembling vines wrapping around his arm tightly, with a blue rose growing out of it) with medical tape and his neck tattoo (a cracked skull, with an obvious bullet hole in it, surrounded by blue flame) with a bandage. Outside of work: If he's going out on a date or somewhere nice, he'll just keep his work clothes on. His other wardrobe consist of athletic wear, his band shirts/tanks/long-sleeves from highschool, and jeans (some very much worn and torn). He's too cheap to buy a new wardrobe nor does he care to. Simple and comfortable is key.

Personality

Straight forward and hardly ever unnerved, Jem rarely sugar coats or softens his words. It doesn't matter if your his student or his best friend, if you're being an annoyance to him, he will blatantly tell you to your face and in front of anyone whose around. His students are conflicted with doting on him because of his charming unkempt looks and peculiar nature or being scared shitless by his mood swings. Sometimes he's pleasant and fun, other times he's cold and heartless. Rarely does he smile in public, but when he's home, away from the public eye, he's relaxed and full of genuine grins and laughs. At times, Jem's childish side appears when he speaks vulgar and perverted, when he is being picky with his food, and when he's jealous. His parents are long gone, having left this world after he graduated highschool in a gang drive by. Something you'll notice quickly from him is Jeremiah comes across as extremely intimidating, letting his golden eyes pierce your stare as he sizes you up. He stays fit, maybe not necessarily healthy, and is quite capable of getting into a fight (thanks to his highschool experiences!). Sometimes he's hard to read, keeps a lot to himself, and lets his anger build up. His loved ones have learned overtime how he expresses himself. When the time is right, he'll come to you, not the other way around. His voice will stay low, as he brings you somewhere secluded. Only then will Jem let his emotions spill out of his lips. Looks can be deceiving. Though Jem has a rough exterior, his heart cares and his mind is constantly worrying about everyone else but himself. Yeah, occasionally someone may have to check on him and see if he fed himself. He had a sad past, but he doesn't let that get him down, having years to overcome it. Biography

Jeremiah Clarke was suppose to have a twin brother, who would've been given the name, Jaden Tristan Clarke. He would have been mommy's little "Jay" bird. Unfortunately, before Jeremiah was born the fates had decided to not bring Jay into this world. Researchers call it fetal resorption or "vanishing twin" syndrome, where a fetus dies in the womb and is then partially or completely reabsorbed by the other twin for survival. You can think of it like one twin sacrificing it's life so that it's sibling can live. That was how Jem's mother would describe it. The occurrence is rare and abnormal. The distant teacher would like to believe his life was simple, but it's never that easy, is it? There was always an underlining sadness in his mother, Lucille, who wished her other baby boy survived. It didn't help that she had two miscarriages before then. One being when she was 15, by a deadbeat of an ex. Even with such sadness in her life, she was wise and would not let her issues interfere with raising her living child. Jem's father, Tristan, on the other hand, was very closed off and used alcohol as his coping mechanism. Luckily for both the child and the mother, the older man was not abusive to them when he drank. He did however scare them with how dark he could get and his self mutilation. The discovery of Jeremiah's virtuoso, at such a young age, kept his parents' minds occupied with honing his skills and getting him somewhere in life. From 3 years old up until middle school, the boy performed at recitals, won awards, and even made music artist connections. His peers were conflicted with admiring him and being jealous that he was the talk of the small town. Being bullied was an understatement of what Jem went through. He watched as his parents became superficial and desired to build their reputation for the sake of others. He watched kids talking shit about him like he wasn't even there. Girls even flirted with him and made him believe he had a chance with them, so that they could break his heart. After the first time he was surrounded by a group of students and publicly humiliated by them... he decided right then and there, he would not get close to anyone or so that's what he thought. If they wanted someone to hate, Jeremiah would give them exactly what they wanted. Middle school he started transitioning from his studious, overachiever self to an angry, extremely angry wolf. Those kids that tortured him. Yeah, he shut them up real quick. Even sending one to the hospital, threatening if the piece of shit ever spoke of that moment, he would find him and make him regret he ever did. The young boy gained attention from the dangerous crowd of students. Students that were worse than his previous bullies. These students opened a new gate for Jeremiah, introducing the underworld to him. From 7th grade until end of sophomore year of highschool, the once so kind boy became a tool to the Hells Angels Gang. He never fully joined the Gang but he did do tasks for them. Many times they wanted to initiate him into the group but Jem preferred not having strings attached. They did consider him an unofficial member due to his involvement and the amount of respect he gained. This is when he gained a 'bad boy' persona and girls swooned over him. He even started drinking at such a young age, perhaps... slowly becoming his father. During middle school, Eric Walker took notice of him and tried with all his power to become friends. That wasn't an easy thing to do either, there may have been an incident when Jeremiah pushed Eric up against the wall telling him he shouldn't get close to him, he's not worth the time. That didn't make the foolish peer stop though... Along with this kid, Eric, wanting to be his friend, his parents started to see him more and more as a disappointment. This only made Jeremiah retaliate and say some hurtful things to his parents. Sophomore year was the first time the boy got into a fist fight with his father... What was he becoming? His mother's tears. Please, don't cry... His father's blood. Oh god, I did that. For the first time in his life, Jem needed a friend to slap sense into him. At an ungodly hour, he climbed Eric's parents vines on their house and knocked on the window that was of his only friend's bedroom. Slipping into the room, Jem broke down crying revealing a side he hates showing anyone, revealing his vulnerability. At the end of sophomore year, the disheveled teen tried to balance his past self with his current self. He broke ties with his so-called friends and like a child scared to take the next moves on his own, he clung to his best friend. Of course, breaking ties with a gang is never that easy. The next two years, paranoia built inside of Jem, watching every corner so his parents or Eric wouldn't get an unexpected visit. Things were silent... too silent. Paying a visit to the leader to talk things out, Jem left with a deep stab wound and was rushed to the hospital. His parents considered to move but Jem assured them, it was fine. He truly believed the score was settled with him almost dying. That was... not true, unfortunately. After getting accepted to Julliard, giving his parents complete joy, the male's parents were murdered by a gang drive by. They died their happiest believing their son would become something great. But after that, he saw a different future for himself. He didn't want kids to get involved in the environment he was in. Kids were the future and he wanted to make sure they knew that, so instead of going to Julliard, he went to a local college and got a Bachelor's degree in Music Education, with a minor in English. Within time, he was able to prove his proficiency and dedication to teaching. Since he already had great connections, he was recommended to teach at Blackthorne Academy, a private boarding highschool. He even opened the gate way for his best friend to get a job there in the Math Department. Within the first year of him on the job as an adjutant professor (23 yrs old), he proved his worth as an indispensable asset to the academy. The head of the music department retired when Jem was 26 and everyone recommended the talented, young music teacher to follow the previous director's footsteps, disregarding any sort of seniority rule. The odd, hazel eyed man would like to think the other professors just didn't want to dedicate their life to such a taxing job. Not minding the salary, the chain smoking teacher accepted the promotion. During this period of time, he couldn't help but notice this... interesting history teacher. After quite some time of battling his inner convictions, the man approached Makoto Guroi and asked if he would like to join him for some drinks, perhaps do a mingle meet-up with the Music Department and the History Department since rarely do the two departments cross paths. Now... they're dating... Note: As for Jem's relationship with Nicolas, they probably just see each other in the hallway and acknowledge the other's existence but never really talk. Yet.
Fears Being seen as vulnerable and weak (his own tears) Not having a handle on his emotions, ultimately making him lose control Being forgotten or left behind His loved ones joining his late parents Failure, like failing to make his significant other happy or failing to provide for his family or failing himself Extra His highschool phase makes him seem like a rocker but he's a classical music lover by heart. As a music teacher, he holds appreciation for all forms. He's always wanted a puppy but with his schedule, he wouldn't have time to take care of one. Especially because of the concerts he prepares his students to perform in and festivals he takes his students to. If he passes a pet store, a pound, or a rescue shelter, more often than not, he'll visit it and look at all the cute dogs! He's not picky on the kind of dog he'll get one day, so long as it can become his. Yes, he likes to smoke and drink alcohol.
