...what happened to talking about peanut butter? Anyways. As an American, I can state that I will consider it not only a nationwide failure if Trump is elected, but as firm an indication as we are ever going to get that the American political system is broken and in need of repair. On top of Trump being morally reprehensible, on top of his tumultuous history as…well, being a total jackass…on top of everything else he’s done... This is the man who was fired from his own TV show for being an arrogant racist prick. WHY are people taking him even remotely seriously?! I’m not so much concerned with the damage Trump would do to the country if he got elected. At this point The Country has had plenty of experience in running itself whilst largely ignoring Washington in matters of most everything. If we somehow survived eight years of George Goddamn W., we can survive Trump. What gets me is the enormous damage Trump will – not can, WILL – do to America’s already-shaky relations with the rest of the world. George threw away decades of generally good relations with the rest of the world in pursuit of his daddy’s wars, and Obama has been hamstrung by frothing-mouthed savages, on both sides, in Congress for pretty much his entire run. If we let Trump in, the country’s internal machinery will likely just keep on grinding the way it always does…but there’s only so many times complete toxic asshats like W or Trump can get elected before something critical breaks. I’m not any kind of student of history, and have very little more than an average layman’s understanding of both the local and global political situations…but at this point I’d just about vote for a particularly succulent radish over any of the individuals ‘The American People’ have pushed onto the running track, and I would honestly rather let the office sit empty than permit Trump to park his worthless ass in it.
