KRISS MAUSER
Kriss watched through half-open eyes as the first-years went at the robots in full force. Two years ago he would have had his jaw on the floor the whole time. Now it was just a show of who was more confident and sassy than the others. He raised an eyebrow at the revolver-wielding girl, who had formulated a plan of attack using the skills of another student to complement her own. It was something he had learned in his first year. Apparently it came naturally to her. One of the other girls (Why are there so many girls this year?) went at it with a handful of throwing and hand-held knives. He winced as she sliced its head off and kicked it vaguely in the direction of the headmistress. She was going to get in trouble. So was the revolver girl. And the flame-thrower girl. And- "To heck with it. I'm going to wait until I get some actual names," Kriss said to no one in particular, stepping out of the crowd and sitting on a bench near a wall. He slid the tiny Bible out of his jacket pocket and flicked idly at the edges of the pages again. Curiosity was starting to get the better of him; he had carried this thing for two years and hadn't even read it all the way through. Without thinking, he stopped, picked a random page, then stabbed a random verse with a finger. Saying, This fellow persuadeth men to worship God contrary to the law. "I guess that's Paul. Been a while since I read about him." Kriss thought for a minute, then slammed the book shut. So much for learning some kind of fascinating secret. He caught sight of Adam Unterhügel in the crowd, looking as uninterested as ever. At seven feet tall, he was hard to miss. Slipping the Bible back into a jacket pocket, he pressed carefully through the crowd of students fixated on the display towards the fellow third-year student. "Guten tag, Adam," he said as he approached. Despite his heritage, Kriss knew very little German, and his accent was horrendous. He had been working on it over the years, but it was still cringe-worthy to a fellow German, and he suspected it would agitate Adam into at least noticing him. [@ReaptheMusic]
