A Time for Celebration
Gibraltar Day 3, Evening Gibraltar had done his job at the wedding, no threats, no inconveniences, just the bonding and a blooming love shared among all who were there to witness it. And yet, Gibraltar still found himself prowling around at the reception on alert, ready to guard the life of the one he had been tasked to protect, even if the wedding itself was over. His optical sensors scanned the guests at the party, Archive's database filling his HUD with a great abundance of information, names, ages, ranks, roles, height, weight, biometrics, psychiatric, etc.; most of it was of little use to him. Everyone was having a good time, either drinking their fill or dancing out on the main floor, Gibraltar's eyes wandered up to the sky show above, the heavens themselves granting their blessing to the newly weds. His path eventually had him stumble upon his own charge, lurking in the shadows at the edge of the party, as she usually was. Despite how calm and collected she kept herself, he could feel her twitching, the need for her addiction beginning to grip her rather harshly. Gibraltar approached the young woman, "Lethal," he gave her a slight nod before reaching down to his leg, a small hatch opening as he pulled the pack of cigarettes that he had kept safeguarded on his person. He was about to hand her the pack before halting and opening it, pulling out a single one for himself, before placing it in her open hand. The hatch closed and he took his place next to her, standing at her side as he brought the tiny ash stick to his lips, sparking a little lightning in his fingertips to light it before breathing in the noxious fumes. Inhaling, exhaling, he didn't feel the smoke as it entered or left his lungs, in fact there really was no point in him even having taken the cigarette. His cybernetic augmentations and the nano-bionics in his bloodstream would prevent the nicotine from ever reaching his brain; on the plus side, he'd never get lung cancer as a result. No, the whole point of this was purely for the celebration aspect of it, tonight was a night to live it up a little, even if he felt on edge, he'd try and enjoy this night as he was sure Shard would have expected all of his guests to.
