Penny could definitely hear some commotion on her train carriage, she was slightly tempted to peek and have a look what was going on. But she had work to do. Although she loved being a pilot she was still a journalist/analyst first and foremost and had a whole report on the [b]Magen Corporation[/b] to finish reading so she could begin telling a story about their new weapons manufacturing schemes. She was in her element, reading off her pocket computer while taking notes off her holo-screen, wondering if she would be able to visit any of the major corporations in her new role underneath Michael Graham, so many unknowns, so much excitement.

Her nerves began to settle as the train entered the county of New Anchorage, which she still called Smith's Rest in her mind. 3 generations of her family were from Alaska and even during the turmoil of war and civil unrest its difficult not be comforted by the sights of your own home. But with that came a sense of duty, although she worked in media, the military roots of her grandfather and father where strong in her veins. [i]"Protect what we died to build...Save our home."[/i] Her grandfather's words would always ring in her mind when she was called to do something for the greater good. It was time to be a pilot again.


There was still a little bit of time before the train reached the destination so Penny decided to run some training VRs on her Holo-Interface while on the train, she had just downloaded the latest demo for 'Marksman Mark 3' which would help her with her sniping in NC combat. Penny became a pilot fairly late, not growing up around them and having paid for formal lessons to become a pilot was very out of the norm for someone from a working class background. Most of her friends grew up with NC's working in garages or military branches. So Penny made a point to stay in practice whenever she could. Hoping not to be embarrassed by her peers when it came to a live combat mission.

The VR booted up, and penny's lungs went tight with focus....
