[@Framing A Moose] It is to no god but rather the forces of Faith. Talismans are used as Catalysts to miracles just like in Dark Souls I- The religion/Faith aspect is focused on Physical recovery/harm without damage (such as a knockback miracle) while sorcery is more of a damage and harmful magic that uses staves as catalysts and does serious damage if used correctly.
