Hunter trying to not make things awkward
Hunter was surprised to hear about clover's father going through something similar to what he was going through. Many people when they described people that go through his situation normally explain the story with a lot more aggression too the person. Clover also mentioned how her father got over it by falling in love with her mom. Now that Hunter thought about it, other then the most recent week his best attempt at quitting was during the beginning of his relationship with Delilah. Clover started talking about meeting her ex, how seeing him so happy with out her was painful to bare. Who wouldn't have trouble with that. It's a crap situation to get stuck in. "Saw my ex here too. Though... I didn't handle the situation so well." He trailed off a bit. He didn't want to mention his drunken rant to Clover. Especially since he handled a lot of his situations well intoxicated. There was a lot he wanted to say, not just to her but to anyone. But there was also a lot he didn't want to share. What made it hard was that many of those things overlapped. But Clover... She was something different to Hunter. He just couldn't place it yet. “Here,” the freckled girl chirps, hopping up from her chair and pulling at Hunter insistently until he’s on his feet as well. “Let’s not think about our exes or how bad we want a drink right now,” she declares, stepping close so she’s standing in his personal space while tentatively letting her hands go up to circle around the taller man’s neck. “Will you dance with me, Hunter? I promise not to step on your feet too much,” She jokes, glancing up at him through the sweep of her lashes. Hunter was surprised by this remark. Was his situation actually turning around? Was he able to actually be close with someone again? This, this was amazing to him. "I'd... I'd love to dance." First taking a deep breath to calm himself down from his excitement Hunter placed his hands around clover's waist and held her close as they danced to the music from the party. Hunter loved the song, he enjoyed it as he danced with Clover. For the first time since he started dating Delilah he actually started feeling happy again. Before it was just him putting on a good face, but now... He had hope. Well dancing Hunter stared into Clover's calming blue eyes. In her eyes Hunter felt... relaxed, free, hopeful. When the song ended he hugged Clover holding her close. "Thank you. Thank you for making this trip worth coming." He whispered in her ear trying to hold back tears. "It means a lot to me, it really does." He held her close for what seemed like forever. He never wanted this moment to end. Hunter let go worried he made the situation awkward. "I... Uh... Sorry. I just..." He broke eye contact. "I'm sorry. I've been... stressed recently. I didn't mean to make things awkward. I mean you're an amazing girl, one of the most amazing I've met. And I barely know you." He looked back into those comforting blue eyes. "Maybe we should get to know each other?" He asked shyly. "Could be fun."
