[...] [/quote] The problem with notepad is that if you activate the 'line break'-option, that crazy program inserts linefeed/carriage-return into the actual text instead of just rendering it with linebreaks to avoid horizontal scrolling. Another thing that is confusing comes with Word/OpenOffice: A paragraph there technically is something entirely different than a linefeed in a 'simple' editor/textbox. My advice is to get an advanced editor that is designed for coding - saves you all kinds of such formatting troubles. However even the best editing tool can't save you from loosing more than half your character archive if you're just too lazy for making regular, diverse (in terms of storage technology) and well-organized backups. That's what happened to me and it got me kinda pissed off about myself.
