Name: Aaron White Alias: Icarus Alignment: Hero Identity: Secret Personality: On the outside, Aaron seems like a typical 26 year old with a distinct lack of motivation. Seemingly content in the same set of dead-end part-time jobs he worked since dropping out of college, Aaron spends most of his time working or working out, with a fair amount of effort put into charming the ladies. Inside Aaron’s head, however, is a different story. Deeply afraid of his powers and the potential harm they could bring about, he refuses to grow attached to anyone (with the exception of his sister, Anna). Aaron does have a close group of friends he seems often, but refuses to let them in on his secret. Despite his deep anxiety with his powers, Aaron accepts them for what they are - powers, and seeks to use them for good. He dons the persona of Icarus as a reminder that he was given a terrifying gift, and to help resist the temptation to fly too close to the Sun, lest someone get hurt. Uniform / Costume: Originally, Aaron did most of his crime-fighting in a hooded sweatshirt and jeans, with a bandana covering his face. Overtime, as Icarus became more and more known for his good deeds, Aaron sent out for an official costume. He wears a mainly periwinkle blue and white spandex suit, with a pair of white wings on the chest. Aaron subscribes to the “no cape” philosophy, but wears a mask that hides his nose, mouth, and eyes. Origin Details: In high school during his junior year, Aaron’s parents were both killed in a car crash, leaving only him and his older sister, Anna. Anna, having just graduated college, managed to support Aaron and herself for two years while he finished high school. After taking a few years off to work and save up some money, he decided to begin attending college, but was mugged by several men on his way home from a night class and badly beaten. Left to die in the middle of the street a few blocks from his apartment, Aaron was taken, barely conscious, to the hospital before being shipped to a laboratory belonging to Ward Technologies. Gabriel Ward, a wealthy scientist and CEO of Ward Technologies, invested most of his research in biomedical military technology. Ward Technologies had been selecting patients from hospitals with few family ties and a low chance of survival and paying the hospitals to transfer them to a laboratory for underground biotechnology testing. Aaron was fitted with thousands of nano-implants and injected with experimental chemicals over the course of two months before he managed to break free and escape, accidentally killing almost a dozen scientists and security guards while making his exit. Aaron quickly dropped out of college and moved to Lost Haven, where he now makes a living waiting tables and hiding from those at Ward Technologies who may want to recapture him. Hero Type: Energy (Kinetic energy or simply “force”) Power Level: City Level Specific Powers: The nanotechnology injected into Aaron gives him the ability to use his body’s natural energy as a sort of battery, and allows him to excrete kinetic energy, or simply raw “force” from his body in the form of light-blue energy. He is able to focus this into blasts, propel himself through the air, and deflect projectiles. Aaron can also control the excretions a short distance, allowing him to shield nearby allies or manipulate close objects not requiring fine motor skills. Furthermore, the combination of chemicals and other nano-implants in Aaron’s body modified his muscles, including his heart, to give him high levels of conditioning and athletic ability, overtaking that of most Olympic-level competitors. Lastly, while not specifically a power, Aaron trained in kickboxing for a short while during and after high school, and while far from a master of the fighting style, can hold his own against most untrained fighters. He is generally incapable of fighting large number of opponents using only his kickboxing, however, evidenced by his severe beating after he was mugged. Attributes: Strength: 10 tons (when pushing / lifting using force) Speed / Reaction Timing: 50 mph Endurance at MAX: 2 hours Agility: 5x Intelligence: Average Fighting Skill: Trained Resources: Minimal Weaknesses: Survivor’s guilt, mostly. Supporting Characters: Anna White: Aaron’s older sister and best friend. She cared for him after their parents were both killed in a car crash.. Despite not knowing the reasons for Aaron’s move and his withdrawal from college, Anna supports her brother and hopes he can overcome whatever personal issues are holding him back. Anna currently lives in New York City with her fiancee, Eric, and works as an editor for a small fashion magazine. Eric Leitner: Anna’s fiancee. He and Aaron have met on occasion, but they are not particularly close. Eric is a sweet guy, and ultimately Aaron approves of his relationship with Anna. Gabriel Ward: Head of Ward Technologies, and the man responsible for giving Aaron his powers. Though they have only officially met once before his escape, Aaron was able to piece together a few bits of information about Gabriel and Ward Technologies in general, allowing him to evade any of their attempts to recapture him and remain underground for some time. Miles Buchanan: Aaron’s kickboxing instructor and close friend. Miles is the only person in Lost Haven to truly know Aaron’s identity as Icarus, and supports him however possible. Miles and Aaron have been friends since before Aaron’s operation, and made the move with him to Lost Haven, where they are now roommates. Miles swears to keep Aaron’s superheroics a secret, and has done so even from his girlfriend, Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn Rose: Miles’ girlfriend. She works with Aaron at the local steakhouse as a server, and Aaron actually introduced the two. She, Aaron, and Miles are all close friends, and they often go out together.
