[indent]Mathius is a little bit of a powerhouse in terms of build. He is well over six foot and has the width to make him just as imposing. Years and years of hardcore and high levels sport have sculpted his body in to the form of a prime athlete. His hips are flat, his chest wide and his shoulders hefty and broad. He ultimately does not look like a force to be reckoned with and he knows it; it's simply written in the way he holds himself. The young man walks with what can only be described as a swagged because he expects everyone to get out of his way and not the other way round. If they don't move for him then he'll just have to make them. 

Mathius' hair is a sandy blonde and although his eyes seem a warm colour they do not usually hold a gentle expression. He focuses on people with intent and won't let it go until whatever he's thinking is resolved.  [/indent]

[indent]Mathius is not viewed as an especially nice person. He's not afraid to speak his mind and this unfortunately goes hand in hand with talking down to people. He finds it very easy to pick out those he views as weak and once he locks on he's very reluctant to let the idea go. He views it as a kind of character building but the people he picks on don't quite see it the same. Or that's what their parents said when he made a couple of younger boys burst in to tears and they told their mothers. He didn't care though because in his mind they'd deserved it; he'd just been trying to toughen them up after all. They clearly should have been more like him - which leads to Mathius' arrogance. He knows he's very capable. He's incredibly strong and very capable of many physical things. He's not bothered about telling others this as well. 

On the other side of this, there is a much gentler side to Mathius that people rarely see. He's fiercely protective over those that he holds close and if anyone steps on their toes then they'll see a fist flying at their face before they can even properly apologise. He doesn't truly believe in apologies and believes things are resolved better if someone is taught a lesson. Inside Mathius there is a much nicer guy than the one he brings across on the surface. It probably comes from the fact he feels he has to create so many walls to protect himself from the world and the people in it.[/indent]

[indent]Mathius comes from a very large family. His parents are unmarried but including him they managed to give birth to seven children, six of whom are boys and most of which are older than Mathius. Ever since he could walk they were forcing him to roughhouse and his father (who was a ex professional athlete) always pushed him in the direction of physically developing. By the age of ten he was playing lacrosse, American football and basketball which spurred his competitive spirit to the max. He was the Captain that everyone looked up to and he revelled in the attention he got from his family, his friends and his teammates. Sporting scouts showed interest in him from a very young age and he moved up in the leagues with surprising efficiency for his age. His brothers never let him slack as they were all successful in their respective sports and hobbies too. It was a family of people who longed to his excel. His parents were gifted with the funds to put each one of them in to the highest end and there's currently talk of Mathius going a very long way in the future with sport - IF he can sort out his attitude problem. The boy he knocked out during his last lacrosse game was not too impressed with his long stay in hospital.

All of his sporting background and the hassling from his brothers has built up his aggressive side but his mother and sister made sure to keep some level of compassion in him. It's somewhere deep but it's there. Mathius always used to watch out for his sister and he still does. She's the most important person to him in the world and if anyone ever does her wrong then they could be staring in to a very lonely grave. His sister is also the reason that he hasn't poured everything in to sports rather than academics because he sees the look in her eyes when she gets to teach him about maths or science. She's much smarter than he could ever hope to be and he admires her for that. He admires a lot of people who are intelligent. 

For Mathius growing up in Texas was always amazing. The food is exactly what he loves and he has a great group surrounding him but there's something that keeps him coming back to camp. He doesn't like to conform to anything but it's like he can't let go. There's so much ahead of him and he's not sure he's ready to face it yet.  [/indent]
