Several doors sealed closed as Edith left her cell, while another opened. Obviously trying to guide her towards a certain location. However before she could move through the open door a mech walked through, an older M-1 labour model. Upon seeing her it raised its hand in the best imitation it could do of someone raising their hand as an indication to stop. However, the voice that came through the unit wasn't that of a typical M-1... it was deeper and more human with a hint of age about it. Though it was definitely masculine. "Edith, there isn't much time. Down this corridor and to the right there is a security station, it is currently unoccupied. Though sooner or later the forces in the prison will begin to question what I am doing and return to their stations. However I have reset the security protocols which should give you full access to the system for ten minutes. After that the system will update and you will be locked out." The mech stood to the side of the doorway to let her past. "Go now, quickly. I'll contact you again when you're out."
Dust was kicked up in Cassies wake, until she slowed skidding along the loose dirt of Mars. She coughed and spluttered slightly, it had been a while since she had been out this far without being in a ship. Doubling over she tried to force the dust from her lungs, before she just collapsed to her knees. How did the U.S.F find out about her abilities? More importantly who was the voice in her ear that told her to run? Yes sure, it was maybe a good idea due to the fact that the mech was dead set on taking her in. She was still trying to wrap her head around the idea that a mech was in charge of a squad, the only time she could think of a mech being in charge included A.I. Though that was illegal, right? She shook her head, that wasn't important right now. She had to plan her next move, whatever that voice wanted her to do... it wasn't feeling too keen on sharing. She sat down on the ground, in the middle of nowhere. Tears begun to form in her eyes. She had never been so alone, she had lost family yes. Though she had never been alone. She had always had her father, and after joining the military she had never truly had a moment where she was by herself. She had always had a direction, orders. She didn't always agree with, or like, the orders. Though they were always there, get up, do this, go there. Now what? She was a fugitive for the sole reason taht she could run really fast. What options did that leave her with? She could turn herself in, hope that they didn't dissect her or lock her away and 'lose' the keys. Or she could wait and hope that whoever this voice in her ear was, would speak to her again. Let her know what was going on and why it was happening to her. Out of all the people, why her? It just made no sense, had she not been through enough already? Or was fate truly just that cruel?
"Ladies and Gentlemen." The aging face of Roland Quee appeared on every screen, every device, on Mars. The local Governor was making a public address. "I know my friends, that there have been speculation on what has been going on this past month since our very planet shook. Many of you have noticed the quarantine zones, felt the increased military presence. Heard of disappearances, though today I tell you the truth." He rubbed his eyes, as if tired, or full of sorrow. The video changed to the video of a woman in the middle of a hangar taking off at incredible speeds, on foot. Then off a man disappearing in one location and re-appearing in another, and the most disturbing was a man whose very bone appeared to shift, Roland spoke over the video before it returned back to video of his own, tired, face. "I can now confirm, that the shake was done by a group of individuals who appear to have gained super-human abilities. These enhanced individuals have acted against the Government, attacking supply convoys meant for our fair planet making living conditions harsh. Not only that, but they have been acting against you, the populace! Kidnapping those who they feel they can convert to their cause of destruction and death." The video changed to a burned up room, the centre appeared free of any burns however several body bags could be seen throughout the room. People had died. "I will not share the exact details for reasons of security, however these individuals are dangerous and willing to kill. Now, the UN is working around the clock with key companies such as the Lorne Corporation to find a way to stop these individuals and find the source of their power. However if you see anyone exhibiting super-human abilities, contact the authorities at once. Please do not try to talk them down yourself, I could not bear for anyone else to be hurt. Now I speak to those of you working against our government. Please, give up. This is not the way to get what you want, stop your attacks and come speak to us like civilized people. You will not be harmed, you have my word."
