Every year we went to a summer camp and every year there were single hotties just sitting there for the picking." - said Dean facing his best friend who was sitting in the passanger seat just as they parked the car on a vast yet nearly full campus parking lot. "Dude what are you on about? I'm with Kylie."- Ted was taken aback slightly by his friend's suggestion. "Are you serious? You mean you two didn't take a break?" - Dean inquired further with a bewildered frown. "What? No." - Theodore was determined and a little surprised by Dean's hints to cheat on his long-term girlfriend. "Bro.. bro! What's wrong with you?" - The blonde muscular guy defended his position while still holding his left hand on the steering wheel while he gestured with his right hand as he elaborates: "Every time you get separated you ask for a break. That way when you play around you don't feel guilty!" Although Ted was used to his friend's mischiefs and his inability to stay focused on one girl at a time Dean never forced his way of life on Ted before. Perhaps it's because this was the first time Ted was away from his girlfriend for a meaningful period of time, but even the plain suggestion startled him a bit. "Dean, what are you even saying? You know Kylie and I are not like that. We're gonna try long distance." He tries to explain to his womanizing friend the kind of relationship him and Kylie have together, but how do you explain loyalty to a guy who refuses to commit to anyone? The kind of relationship Kylie and Ted enjoy is completely foreign to Dean who by his own decision never had a girlfriend in his life. To him, a relationship between a man and a woman is supposed to be short and purely platonic as he has a tendency jumping from one girl to another as if he's afraid of having any sort of responsibility towards a female. He does his business and moves on not giving it enough time to settle in and feel cozy with that person. "Please don't tell me you actually think she's gonna hold you up to that? For Christ sake, she's spending three months 3000 miles away on the sunny beaches of South Carolina. Don't be stupid and go get laid." Ted just chuckles and dismisses Dean's allegations completely: "Nah bro, I trust her." After saying that, for a second there Ted thought he almost saw a slight upward curve on the side of Dean's lips as if he brought some hope to him and maybe, just maybe, Dean might give it a shot some day, as well. The silent second that passed with them looking at each other awkwardly was suddenly broken as Ted reached for his backpack from the back seat: "Alright, I'm heading out. Thanks for the lift." "You're lucky it's Sunday. Im leaving tomorrow morning with my dad on a business." - Dean replies almost under breath as he grabs the steering wheel and checks out his mirrors. The annoyance in his voice is unerring. "Oh yeah? Where to?" - Ted follows up as he's struggling with his heavy backpack. At this point he's basically crouching on his seat with his ass in Dean's face. "Jesus!" - Dean cries out for help as he lifts his right arm trying to protect himself. Finally, Ted pulls his backpack out and sits back down about to get out of the car. Dean continues: "No idea. Hes keeping me in suspense. Probably thinks I'd bail if I had time to think about it." "Knowing you, you probably would. Enjoy your summer pansy." - says Ted as he finally pulls the handle on his door and gets out of the vehicle. Dean cracks a salty smile and puts the car in gear, slightly sad about their first time being away in years: "Yeah yeah. You too. Bye bro." Ted, on the other hand seemed enthusiastic about his new adventure: -"See ya man!" He took the luggage out of the trunk, plugged in his headphones and proceeded towards the campus, with a heavy backpack strapped to his shoulders and a large travel bag that he's pulling across the concrete towards what, from brochures, seems to be the main hall. The parking itself had dozens of people on it, some holding their own luggage, family members and friends saying their goodbyes, already formed groups hanging out and even some people greeting others at the entrance. As he finally dragged his way towards the doors where some people were giving out hearwarming welcomes, Ted removed one of his headphones before confidently inquiring: "Hi. Which way to the reception desk?" One of the people pointed him towards a big line forming up at the end of a hallway. "Great. Thanks." - Ted's face turned melancholic at the sight of a large amount of people trying to reach the reception, and from his point of view it all seemed confusing and disorganized. Fun times - he noted to himself as he continued dragging his bag. While waiting in line and slowly progressing, the place was getting louder and louder. The amount of people forming up in the tight corridor during the summer heat was becoming unbearable. Jesus Christ, I'm sweating like a pig on a skewer - he noted to himself while trying to nonchalantly wipe the sweat off his forehead with his right hand. Just at that second one of the people in front of him started vommitting uncontrollably, most likely due to the sultry atmosphere that had formed. He didn't notice it at first as he was too focused listening to his music and minding his own business, texting his parents and girlfriend. Then people started passing by him in the opposite direction covered in some sort of mucus that made him feel nauseus as well. What the f... - he thought to himself as he now took more interest in what was going on in the front of him. About half an hour later, which to him felt like eternity spent in hell, he finally makes his way to his destination. "Name." - asks the woman at the reception with discontent in her voice. She didn't want to be there any more than he was. "Theodore Simmons." - he responded just as unenthusiastically while pulling in his bag and setting it up straight. "From now on, you're purple team. Your cabin number is 26. Here's a key." - the woman proceeded as he took the key and set out through another door which lead him into a larger room with a way towards the back of the building. Through the glass wall he could see a thick pine forest surrounding a large field dotted with wooden cabins and a beautiful little trail leading through the village. In the far back he could glance at a silvery lake with the sun rays reflecting off of it's waves and protruding as far as the main hall. He stepped outside on to a large porch which had several groups of people hanging out on it, people who have already settled in, as it seems by the absence of their baggage. He made his way trying to figure out where his cabin is while at the same time taking in the atmosphere he found himself in. The beautiful day and air in the nature accompanied with human laughter and voices of hundreds of people spread out all over the campus coming through and harmonizing with the humming of the birds. Now we're talking - he thought to himself as his first impressions brought nothing but smile to his face. He asked around for the whereabouts of his soon-to-be new home and finally found it atop a small hill rising above the trail somewhere in the middle between the lake and the Main Hall. Next to it was a pole with a small purple flag. Of course there's a flag on it. - he reflected to himself with a sudden realization that all cabins have flag colors for easy identification. He proceeded to climb up to the doors by a set of stairs laid in front of them. He knocked twice on the door before trying to open them but to his surprise they were locked. Oh? I'm first? This can't be right. I'm always late. - Ted thought reaching down into his shorts pocket and pulling out the key he was given at the reception. He then put it in the keyhole and twisted left, unhinging it and entering a spacious and for a log cabin luxurious looking room with two sets of bunk beds on both sides of the entrance and what appears to seem like a living room at the end. He made his way towards the bunk bed to his right and placed his bags next to the lower deck. He inhaled the air of the room deeply before letting it out while casually saying "Claimed". He was relieved. Theo quickly unpacked his things and put them into a closet that was placed next to the bunk bed and shoved his luggage under the bed to free up space for his roommates. "Well, since my roomies aren't here yet I might as well go out and explore a little" - he thought out loud as he took out a bottle of water, put the headphones back in his earlobes and stepped out of the cabin, closing the doors behind.
