This is a modified version of a character I never got a chance to play before. I still have a sample post to write out, but it's getting rather late here. I'll finish writing that tomorrow, but other than that I believe the character is finished. Hope he's at all acceptable :). The sample post will be written tomorrow. Alias: Edge Speech Color: DeepPink Character Alignment: Walking the Line Identity: Secret Character Personality: Milo is a boy with many thoughts, his mind traveling in circles more often than not. One could blame it on his engineered life but he tends to overthink things often and can at times be forgetful, trying to keep track of too many things at once. Despite his appearance showing an expression of boredom or indifference, once you get to know Milo you'll see a sarcastic, lighthearted and fun loving individual who doesn't appear to take life too seriously. He is indeed categorised as one of the quieter types of people, sometimes forgetting to speak because he has indeed thought about the sentence too much and as such believes he actually spoke it. He can be a bit all over the place, both physically and mentally. Milo wouldn't exactly be considered polite or respectful, but rather appears to act the same towards everyone. Having been locked up throughout his life has left the boy rather socially crippled which quite seriously effects his social situations. Milo is blunt to a fault and doesn't sugarcoat anything. He likes to joke around and remains honest most of the time because he doesn't see a reason to hide the truth unless it's absolutely necessary. Despite acting like a brat at times, those who know Milo know that he stops at nothing for those he considers his comrades. No man left behind is a motto he runs with. He's supposed to be there for others at all times and that is a lesson he has learned throughout the missions he has participated in. If for nothing else, to raise the effectiveness of the team through positive relationships. Milo has displayed impressive patience and often finds something to do while waiting for others and though he is laid back to a fault, Milo has been noted to be a neat freak and a perfectionist. Everything always needs to be in its place and Milo is incredibly strict when it comes to being on time, at least concerning himself. Oddly enough, he appears satisfied as long he has lived up to his own expectations, others don't seem to matter as much when it comes to time management. Appearance: Milo stands at a meager five and a half feet, weighing ninety pounds, something considered quite a disadvantage in brawn and strength. He doesn't appear to possess many visible muscles either, his limbs rather thin and slender. With a scrawny frame, Milo would clearly be labeled as harmless and unable to fight, a set of ribs easily visible beneath his skin. One can draw the obvious conclusion that the boy isn't fit for melee endeavors, however he'd gladly prove you otherwise. The thick black hair atop his head falls down to the base of his neck along with bangs covering his eyes unless kept out of the way with either a bandana, headband or toboggan. A pair of curious brown eyes are constantly kept on the lookout, as if waiting for an impending ambush. In truth, Milo simply prefers to keep his surroundings in check. Needless to say, he hates surprises as long as he's not the one giving them. An expression of indifference or boredom are common sights upon this boy, appearing unamused but not necessarily dissatisfied. While lacking combat scars, something his powers would not allow him to retain, several puncture wounds from the pointy end of needles can be found on various parts of his body. It is safe to assume that they found home on his frame before his mutation came to fruition. A pair of black cargo pants reach down to his ankles where they are slightly folded up and a black hoodie often find home atop his torso. Due to his small size, Milo often wears over sized shirts but he has gotten used to the nuisance. His hands always find home in a pair of fingerless leather gloves which allows for a better grip and would be considered stylish by his standards. Having the frame of a fourteen year old boy, one shouldn't expect too much from Milo. Indeed, his frame is the direct result of what he was intended for, but it also leaves the boy with less physical strength than most within his circle of acquaintances. Indeed, while adept in both combat and acrobatic maneuvers, Milo often has to rely on finesse and grace in fights. Martial arts is a skill he is incredibly familiar with but it's not magic. He will have difficulties overpowering largely muscled opponents with fists alone and thus prefers to use bladed weaponry in leu of unarmed combat. Lacking in imagination, Milo feels most at home in black clothing as well as black canvas shoes. He never did consider himself fashionable in any way. Milo is often, as was the purpose of his design, considered cute by his surroundings. The olive tint to his skin would easily dot his ethnical home somewhere in the middle east and his thick hair hugs his face quite nicely. It is uncommon to see Milo without some kind of music attached to his person. A pair of headphones appear on his head more often than not and it's safe to say that his thoughts wander freely, leaving him less than aware of his surroundings at times. Uniform/costume: Milo doesn't have the finances to have any notable costume or attire designed for combat or stealth. The only thing he could salvage from the rubble of his old life was a trusty blade he keeps close, a shorter katana designed for him. Other than that, Milo wears his typical clothes during missions, but hides his face beneath a hood. Nor is it an impossibility to create a human being in a test tube. Honestly, one could almost consider it a cliche at this point. M110, it's a name I got acquainted with throughout my life in a facility I called home. I wish I could give you something more interesting to listen to, but I'm afraid it's simpler than I'd like to pretend. There's a recipe for mutations out there, hidden deep beneath the heavy layers of research within the confines of laboratories and facilities. It's a funny thought, honestly. Imagine your life drawn out on a notepad before you're finally brought to fruition. I can safely say that I had no biological parents. Am I human? I was created to be one, but what exactly does that mean? Simply because I look like a human, bleed like a human and act like one, does that inherently make me homosapien? I guess that's a philosophical conversation for another time, right? You want to know about my past and how I got here. I'll tell you as much as I remember. Okay, we'll start at the beginning. As I said, I was never actually born. I was created. What was the purpose of that? I wish I could say it was because someone really wanted a son but that wasn't the case. At this point I am sure you can guess my purpose, it was to be a weapon like many biological weapons before me. I'm not an android or a cyborg, I'm completely organic but I guess you could call it bionic, right? The mold for my appearance came from my creator's late son. That's a bit morbid, I know. She apparently couldn't say goodbye. He died at fourteen, from what I could gather. Creating me wasn't exactly a healthy way of coping but there were other reasons for writing my name on a drawing board. You've seen the typical heroes and villains out there, right? Some of them are huge brutes, some of them are heroic and muscular. Some of them are magical and command the powers of mysticism, and then there's me. I was designed on a cellular level to look cute, inconspicuous. My body's slim to an almost scrawny level without any muscles visible on my skin. My eyes are made to be big, innocent and my voice hints at a lack of strength behind every word. It's the perfect assassin, right? A person who people would lower their guard around, a person no one would look twice at. No one in their right mind would consider a kid a killer, right? Well, that's they were counting on. Designed to look small, fragile and innocent but with the capabilities of a professional martial artist, they cooked up a weapon they were satisfied with. Of course, this mold was just the beginning. The mutation they gave me was an insurance of sorts, a means of removing my expiration date. Of course, it also keeps me alive and completely removes any kind of maintenance. So, technically they gave me the mutation of immortality, in a way. True immortality is impossible to come across from what I know, but I guess I'm pretty close. You'd think that they'd give this mutation to everyone, but it's not really that simple. Your body has to react positively to the treatment, otherwise it straight up kills you. They had to create a bionic person specifically for this mutation to actually work. It's not a cheap process, and it's why there's only one of me. While human in every level of prowess, my strength is still limited to that of a person with my build. In other words, I have the physical strength of a fourteen year old boy. It's why I prefer to use blades despite my skill in unarmed martial arts. They did give me one addition on top of my mutation, however. I am a lot more agile than what's considered normal. Some people might call it supernatural. It's a combination of my biology and my training which bears fruit, I guess. Alright, that's about enough of the technical information, right? There's probably a lot more to tell about the cellular configuration of my biological structures and whatnot but honestly, I don't really know what to tell you. All I know is what I've gathered and I'm not exactly a scientist. I wouldn't understand half the things written about me. I'll tell you about my experiences instead, that's what you want to hear about, right? I was always treated rather well by Dr. Hemsworth. She was the one put in charge of me. The person you see today is the person I started out as. I never actually grew, but rather started out this way once my creation was complete. When they finally let me out of the glass confines I had been seeing the world through, Dr. Hemsworth was the one who took care of me. She taught me all manner of things, really. Combat knowledge was a mixture of artificial downloads placed in my brain during creation and physical exercise which took place in the same laboratory, and it took quite a while before I was sent on my first mission. I still remember it quite clearly. I had been designed to kill and my target was a certain Robin Clay. He was a man with many enemies, mainly because he was a drug lord. I think this ties into explaining exactly who it was that created me, right? They're not around anymore, but it was an underground organisation with a lot of money and a lot of plans. I won't say they were all that bad, honestly. Sure, they committed to a lot of shady work but their main purpose was to target very dangerous people. The name of the organisation I belonged to was Void, not the most creative thing you can come by but it got it done. Between missions, Dr. Hemsworth treated me much like a mother would treat her son. She was really good to me and never saw me as a weapon, but rather as her responsibility. Though, all good things come to an end, don't they? The reason for my existence was a simple one. Get a target, kill it, move on. Though, Void wasn't the only organisation out there doing this and eventually we got outplayed and completely destroyed by forces we couldn't surpass. Someone on the inside had been dismantling the organisation for quite some time and we hadn't noticed so the fault was ours. Though, with the fall of Void, Dr. Hemsworth met her demise. It left me without a home and without a job. Most of all, it left me without a purpose. That's what lead me here. You can say what you want about Void, they're not around anymore, but I was designed to put down dangerous people who make hurting others their business. That is a purpose I'll cling to and even though my home is gone, my mission isn't. Oh, what did M110 stand for? Male one hundred and ten. I was their one hundred and tenth attempt at this." Hero Type: Acrobat Power Level (Select one below): Street Level Powers:
Rapid Regeneration
The user can rapidly regenerate. In other words, they recreate lost or damaged tissues, organs and limbs, sometimes slowing, or even stopping, aging. The rate and amount of healing varies widely, some can regrow missing limbs, others must put the limb back in place for rapid regeneration. They are generally in very good physical shape as their bodies are constantly reverting to a healthy state, granting them nigh-inexhaustible stamina and vitality. - Superpower Wiki Strengths: - Due to Milo's mutation, his ageing has stopped since his cells die and regenerate in equilibrium. - As the name suggests, this ability allows for near instant regeneration of wounds Milo sustains, be it flesh wounds, burns or severed limbs. - This mutation prevents Milo from getting sick and denies him the need to feed or drink as his body constantly maintains itself which effectively removes the feelings of hunger and thirst. Weaknesses: - Unlike many other powers, Milo's regeneration doesn't enhance his prowess or strength. He has the physical capabilities of a fourteen year old boy. - The more Milo regenerates, the more fatigued he becomes. Naturally, the graver the wound the more energy it will drain to regenerate. Too much use of this power will cause Milo to faint, leaving him incredibly vulnerable. - Cutting the nape in Milo's neck will instantly kill him. The nape of his neck is the nexus and center of his regenerativ abilities. - Though agelessness is a strength in many ways, it has both a social and psychological effect on Milo which leads to negative outcomes. Due to his childish appearance, one can imagine the strife he deals with in social interactions, especially in his line of work. On top of that, the knowledge of constantly outliving his friends, seeing them grow and develop in the process while he is stuck in time is a hard truth to accept. - Given the fact that Milo does not need to eat, he has neglected eating all together with the exception of downing sodas. Due to this, swallowing solid food would actually hurt him as his body has grown unused to the procedure. James is a computer whiz and acts as Milo's sidekick in many ways. While unable to handle himself in physical combat, James strength lies in two of Milo's greatest weaknesses. A hacker in every sense of the word, James ran into Milo by accident. One could say that he was at the wrong place at the right time. Having had a less than legal life to fall back on, James got himself in a lot of trouble with unsavory types and required some saving. Luckily, Milo had been tailing the very same people who in turn had been tailing James. The chance meeting ended with James offering his assistance to Milo in the bionic warrior's crusade against the underworld. Seeing how Milo was at a huge disadvantage all by himself, he accepted the alliance James proposed. Theme Song: "You won't see it coming..." Do you know how to post pictures on RPG boards?: Yep Sample Post: "This is your old home? What happened to it?" James took a careful step onto the rubble of metallic scrap and ruined architecture, taking in the scene as it unfolded before him. Shattered glass laid scattered across a metallic floor and the flickering of a single light dotted what life remained within the facility walls. "Yeah..." A boy of few words, Milo's voice left his lips in a quiet manner, nearly a whisper as he delved deeper into the ruins of his old life. Tracing a pair of exposed finger across the dusty and cracked surface of a computer screen, he gently tapped it with his short finger nails. In the deafening silence surrounding them, tapping a screen caused a nearly echoing sound to linger through the air. "We were beaten..." "Yeah, I can see that." James offered, pulling his jacket closer to protect himself from the cold, winter night. "What are you looking for, anyways? This place is creepy." Milo's footsteps were barely audible, a feat granted by light weight. It didn't take very long before the boy finally came in contact with a mechanical door barely hanging onto its hinges. Judging from the soot marks around it and the pure amount of brute force used to open the device, one could draw the obvious conclusion that a bomb had been used. "We're going deeper?" "You can stay here..." Milo returned, moving in between the large gap created betwixt the door and the wall. "Uh, no thanks. I'd rather be with you. You're the one with a sword." Picking up his pace, James evened the distance between Milo and himself, joining the boy as they descendent further into the forgotten graveyard of a scientific facility. "You still haven't told me what you're after." Met with silence, James sighed in reaction to the all too frequent response Milo would offer. With a flashlight each, the two finally reached the bottom level and were immediately met by a stench of seclusion and death. Reflexively covering his mouth, James gagged at the sudden attack of smell and quickly turned to his smaller friend in hopes of clarity. "What the hell's that smell!?" "Corpses..." To the point in a rather blunt manner, Milo had never been one to dance around the subject for long. Lowering his flashlight to the cold, metal floor, he illuminated the decomposing body of a scientist still wearing his lab coat now covered in bullet holes. "It started with a mole. When they had all the information they wanted, they attacked..." "Who were they?" James clenched his teeth, trying not to return dinner through his throat at the sight of a cadaver. "A rivaling faction. I don't know their name..." Lowering himself to the floor, Milo gently placed his hand on the scientist's shoulder and rolled him over, revealing a name tag which read Dr. Harpman. He was never the most likable fellow, but he deserved a fate better than this. The boy's hand would however continue down Dr. Harpman's frame until it came in contact with his pocket. A small gun resided within, loaded with a full six bullets for self defense. He never got a chance to use it before the tip of an assault rifle got acquainted with him. "Take this, in case something happens..." "A gun? You think we'll get attacked in this place? No one has been here in what, a hundred years?" A soft frown crossed James lips as he reached his hand out and grabbed hold of the pistol Milo offered. "Twenty years..." Ascending back to his feet, Milo continued to lead the way through the darkness of a past he once called home. A trip down memory lane wasn't always pretty and this was akin to that of a horror movie. Passing through the next opened door, the two kept close and made as little noise as possible in fear of someone being there with them. The notion was of course quite ludicrous, but the sound of a crashing glass along with a horrific screech pierced the darkness and stated otherwise. Freezing in their steps, Milo quickly reached for the sword sheathed on his back and pointed the flashlight in the direction of the sound. "What was that!?" Attempting to manage a whisper, James words left his lips a bit louder than he would have have liked. Retaining a sense of calm, Milo knew that if he let his guard down, James would start to panic and whatever it was which inhibited these God forsaken halls would get the beat on them without question. "It looks like another experiment survived..."
