The brief awkward moment as the Totodile seemed to break down what he was just asked felt like a small eternity to the Mudkip. It wasn’t the inevitable reaction, good or bad, that was the hardest part, but rather the tense moments where assumptions took reign over what could happen. Luckily, that “eternal” moment passed, Devon’s words managing to roll out. H-he didn’t remember anything like that? It being familiar didn’t mean much, as it could be a story or tale here in this world. The sweat started to fall down the Mudkip’s head, that feeling of “I fucked up” resonating all too loudly in his head. That feeling didn’t last too long though, as Dylan watched the Totodile’s expression suddenly change. He was pretty sure Totodile couldn’t learn Harden, so the tenseness certainly wasn’t natural. Nor was the literal slack-jawed expression he wore. Oh god, he hadn’t given Devon a stroke from how crazy his question must have seemed, did he? The absurd thought was quickly brushed away as Devon’s expression did another 180 in front of Dylan’s eyes. He had no idea what the perplexed emotion being presented meant for sure, but he had a feeling it was either horribly bad, or horribly good. Luckily for the Mudkip, Devon’s words spilling out from his mouth showed it was the latter. The first thing the Mudkip could muster out in a reply wasn’t what he had planned to say, but rather, a sudden thought that crossed his mind. “W-wait, you can remember how you looked?” He didn’t want to admit it, but Dylan was jealous. He still couldn’t remember anything himself, and he had no idea why… A small shake of his head helped him focus on the important issue on hand. “Gah, that’s not important here. Yeah, I’m just like you, a human. Or, well, used-to-be human. Thank god… I was worried I would sound insane…” The Mudkip’s words trailed off for a moment before picking up once again, answering the other question presented by the Totodile, one which he was still asking himself to no avail. “I… don’t know how, or why this happened, I can’t remember anything. All I know is I woke up in that forest last night as a Mudkip, only remembering my name and previously being a human. I was hoping you’d know something that could help. B-but I’m just glad I’m not alone here…” Out of sight/earshot: [@Ninian][@Bright_Ops]
