Right, here's my captain. Hopefully nobody else was planning on going for the 10th division. Isao’s dedication to his duties is hardly in question, but his lenience on discipline and relative informality compared to some others has given him a reputation of sorts. While Isao won’t sit idly by if someone is negligent in his squad, he’s more likely to deal with the problem with words first rather than overt punishment. He likes to believe people can be encouraged to do better rather than brow beaten until they rush to their work out of fear. While this is far from public knowledge, Isao does harbour some doubts over the way the Seireitei is run. As something of a bleeding heart, he would like nothing more than to try and understand the forces they fight against rather than simply beat them into submission. While he cannot argue with the wisdom of preventing an imbalance in the cycle of souls, he can’t help but feel there must be a way to address the problem more comprehensively than simply destroying every creature that becomes their enemy. If nothing else, this means Isao will attempt to find out more about the enemies the Gotei 13 face if given the chance.[/sub]

₪ - History

[sub]As the son of one of the Soul Society’s great noble houses, Isao was lectured from a young age about how the expectations of his family were on his shoulders. His father was a conceited and self-absorbed man who saw success in the Gotei 13 as a reflection upon the prestige of himself and his family, and so spared no effort in pressuring his children, including Isao, to seek the highest rank they could manage. He made his displeasure quite clear when it became apparent that any of his children were not meeting expectations, which lead Isao to resent him thoroughly. While Isao would go on to become a captain, much to his father’s pleasure, he resolved to run his division contrary to any notions of prestige or honor; he wanted to make a division where people could feel at ease rather than constantly in fear of others’ expectations. Isao spent many years as a seated officer and later a lieutenant in the 10th Division. He always had a fascination with Hollows, and sometimes put himself in harm’s way in order to try and find out more about them. The previous captain always warned him against such things, and tried to tell him there was no great mystery to Hollows; they just needed to be purified. But Isao couldn’t help but get caught up in his own curiosity. There had to be more to the creatures than they already knew. Upon the death of the previous captain, Isao’s popularity in tandem with his acquisition of a Bankai made him the prime candidate to assume command of the division. His captaincy saw the division take on a markedly more relaxed nature.[/sub]

₪ - Abilities

[sub]Isao’s focus is on his ability with his own Zanpakuto, making use of it in conjunction with his Shunpo in order to perform a vicious high speed offensive on his opponent. His skill with Kido is modest; nothing to be ashamed of, but nothing spectacular either. Suffice to say it’s not his speciality. Fuki is a childish and often less than serious spirit, though one that places much importance in doing the right thing. Isao has bonded closely with Fuki on the grounds of their shared idealism, though he still finds communicating with her difficult. She is often incapable of understanding his sarcasm and subtle jokes, much to his dismay.[/sub]

₪ - Inner World

[sub]Isao’s Inner World manifests itself as a vast, densely vegetated valley hemmed in by cliffs. Isao usually finds himself upon one of said cliffs, overlooking the landscape that makes up the Inner World.[/sub]

₪ - Shikai

[sub]With the release command of “Flow, Fuki!”, Isao’s Zanpakuto transforms into a large war fan which grants Isao control over the element of wind. Isao can manipulate the wind to create slicing currents or strong gusts with a wave of this fan. The fan itself is made of steel and thus capable of parrying sword blows like any other weapon, and can even block projectiles.[/sub]

₪ - Bankai

[sub]Isao’s Bankai, Hane no Fuki, manifests as two war fans that have taken on a feathered appearance reflecting Isao’s Zanpakuto Spirit. Aside from simply being more powerful, it gives Isao the ability to perform a spinning manoeuvre that creates a tornado like gust which he can maintain for some time. This form also gives him a more fine control over his air powers; allowing him to manipulate the air around a specific object in order to move it as he wills. This cannot be used freely against anything capable of resisting, such as living creatures.[/sub]
