Nope, pretty hokey civilian writer whose only experience with the military is Tom Clancy novels [among other authors of the genre in literature, anime, and film], a few friends who serve, and a lot of research to add authenticity to my characters. But given Errol was a former mercenary I thought dropping the MRE reference would seem pretty apt.
