Clothes upon clothes stacked on his claimed bed, prepped to be put into one of the many dressers that line the camp, and all the while King hummed a forgetful tune. He hadn't expected the ruckus to come to him, for some reason, and when the doors burst open he audibly gasped and grasped his chest. At the sight of Alex, however, his panic turned to warm happiness and he rose to greet her. She wasn't the last visitor, however, as just as she peeked in Jess did as well and another familiar blonde who King tried and failed to ignore. Of course, though, just as he did that he also found his sister mysteriously gone. Great. Astrid had probably gone to flirt with the enemy again. Hateful thoughts towards Aiden Philips grew with that very idea, burning through his mind like a storm. Aiden had a smile that could start wars and the mouth that could summon storms and King did not like him at all. Well, that could be considered a lie, but during the summer it was his job to hate Philips. That's what rivals did, that's how the story went. That's just how things were in this fantasy world of theirs. They were stereotypes after all, of the perfect summer teen movie. King shook away the brotherly urge to hunt his sister down because he really shouldn't control her likes and dislikes, and instead he turned his attention to the pretty ladies hanging out in his doorway. Alex and Jess. Alex and Jess. King's heart surged for a moment over the thought of this being his last first time seeing them after the long school years that none of them shared. He pushed away the thought again; it was still too early to be sentimental. "Hellooooo ladies~. Jesus--" King couldn't help himself, couldn't help the smile pressing wide against his lips or the way he rushed forward to bring them both into a strong-armed group hug. The smell of summer and places he had yet to visit lingered in their hair and he soaked it in with a loud sigh and then fell back to rub the back of his head sheepishly. The sunlight that drifted in behind them caught his gaze for a moment. It was literally golden, shining off their shoulders like a shower of magic. Beauty settled behind them and King took it all in with wide eyes and a faltering smile. He hadn't expected to be thrown so off guard by others, but here he was, breathing in and out as if winded and feeling all to emotional and emotionless at the same time. King's hands rose suddenly to grasp Alex's left shoulder and Jess' right, and he squeezed reassuringly for himself and himself alone. "I've miss you guys-- God you don't even know how much." He smirked his usual King-smirk and pushed them gently out of the cabin's shade, closing the door behind him so he too could bask in the golden sunlight and breathe that summer air. "What's up? How was your school year? Did you miss me?" He took up a confident stance and leaned forward, eyes twinkling mischievously.
