I’ve been trying to develop a rough list of the gods as I go along— but nothing for a god/goddess of death so far. I assume it’d fall under Darzamat, maybe. As for martial orders; Draethir, Iliandur, and Badarium had a few, though I think most of the assassin-based orders would be from like Sikth, Badarium, and maybe Xelfiria.
This is my character pitch: In life he was a member of a quasi-religious death-worshiping martial order. The logic for the establishment of their order was that the gods looked unfavorably upon killers and murderers, and so upon initiation these men were symbolically "killed" through rituals as a sort of loophole. They lived only in each other's company, as they were treated as ghosts by the "living." Naturally this is quite an old order, perhaps founded when one of the nations was in its infancy, and with the establishment of a proper military became a more specialized cult of assassins or something of that nature. Even so, their dedication [DEATH GOD] gave them unusual inclinations, and in some cases strange powers. So naturally, a man believes himself to be already dead returning to life would be quite a strange experience. This could likely be quite easily taken in as a part of Illiandur, though my inspiration for it was a similar attitude toward a similar tradition in some medieval Slavic cultures. Rather than the generic evil god being the death god, could we use something else/new? I can imagine a morally-neutral guardian of the dead, psychopomp to the dying, arbiter of funerals, etc. Perhaps only spoke of euphemistically, "the Man in Black," etc.
