Player Name: The Kid Lantern Character You Wish To Play: Warren Worthington III, aka Archangel Alias: Archangel Moral Alignment (Hero, Villain, Walking the Line): Hero Affiliation (what group/team/organization, if any, is your character affiliated with?): Worthington Industries Character Origin & Backstory: Warren Worthington III was your average rich kid with all the spoils and such privileged people were used to. That was until the day of his 13th birthday when he noticed something growing out of his back. One year later he had fully functioning wings, and despite his father's protests he used them to fly. Upon learning of other mutants and the Xavier School, Warren checked the place out for himself and even enrolled. However after about a month or two his anxiety to do something more kicked into gear and he headed out on his own. He had dreams of becoming a costumed adventurer but kept his head down and his wings tucked into his overcoat for the next few years while moving up in his father's company and attending college. After buying up as many shares in the company as possible, Warren took great pride in taking control of the company once he had over half the company in his back pocket. In nearly the exact same way as his father took the company from Warren Worthington I no less. Still going out for a nightly fly every so often, Warren heard the screams of a young woman one night who was in the process of being mugged by two grungy looking men. When Warren touched down and saved the woman from the attackers, she broke down into tears claiming God had sent one of his agents to save her. Rumors began about an Avenging Angel defending the citizens of NYC. After seeing costumed heroes in the media like Capt. America and Spiderman, Warren made a costume of his own and took to the skies more regularly as... the ARCHANGEL. Season 1 Summary: Warren officially began his heroic career taking down a few muggers and going up against the Griffin a couple of times before the 3D Man revealed the monster man to be an alien in disguise. He recently met with the young Tony Stark and commissioned the prodigy of Stark Tech to assemble him a weapon. Now the hero wields a flaming sword. Powers and Abilities (What can your character do? What can't they do?): Archangel has wings granting him the ability to fly as well as enhanced physical attributes [strength, speed, endurance, durability]. There is also something in his blood that heals his wounds quicker, making him able to heal from serious injury within days and grow new wings within a few months if they're completely removed. He just heals quicker, but he doesn't have the OP'ed Wolverine/Deadpool healing factors. Warren also wields a flaming sword designed by Tony Stark capable of cutting through most earthly metals and rock. The blade itself is made from titanium laced with adamantium making it virtually unbreakable to nearly everyone save for the Hulk. Sample Story Arcs: Give 2-3 ideas on where you want to go with your character. Sinister Revelation - I'd like to introduce Sugar Man as a scientist named Johnathan Sweet working for Worthington Labs who had a secret agenda with Archangel's father. The secret? Warren's father had Sweet trying to clone him another son but without wings. After Warren exposes Sweet. Sugar Man loses his funding. After Warren discovers his father and Sweet's secret, it leads into the next arc... Angel of Death - My version of Archangel will meet his nemesis, Sugar Man's greatest experiment, the Angel of Death [or just Death for short]. Blue skin, metal wings [cause originally he was cloned without them!], but with the look of the newer younger Angel's evil self... SEEN HERE. Iron Man Team-Up - This will happen eventually again with [@DrewVonAwesome] as Warren owes Tony a favor now. What that turns into is anybody's guess... Sample Post: "If only my father had experienced flying he would've seen why I snuck out so much when I was younger. The wind in my face and flowing through my hair, the taste and smell of moisture in the clouds the higher I fly... it's all just amazing..." Warren thought as he flew in the clouds in the early morning hours of the day. The sun was rising over the skyscrapers of New York City. Archangel finally saw his destination point in the Worthington Industries building about six blocks down from Williams Innovations. His muscles contracted, and his wings folded inwards as he touched down on the roof of the building. In a secret stash he found some clothes he'd put away for just this sort of thing. After dressing himself in more casual clothes he tossed on his overcoat. Most people assumed he wore one because he was rich and that's the sort of thing they wear over their expensive suits. Most people assumed Warren was just another one of those douchebags. Of course, he wore it to conceal his wings... After a long and boring shareholder's meeting, Warren flipped through some monthly reports from their pharmaceutical division. A lab in New Jersey seemed to be spending quite a bit of money on materials and equipment. Nearly everything was signed by a Doctor Johnathan Sweet. "I'm going to look into this a bit later, right now I need to get out and stretch my wings..." he thought. Recently he purchased a small island just off of the coast of Staten Island in NYC, and converted it into a 'Hydrobase' where he continued his studies on the Atlantic Ocean. Upon discovering clues to the location of New Atlantis, Walt was attacked by a blue skinned Atlantian! Hospitalized for several weeks, the ocean expert and amateur inventor designed the Stingray suit to help him defend himself and to continue his research unaffected by the pressures deeper in the ocean. Still investigating the clue of New Atlantis, Walt will soon come into contact with none other than Prince Namor. The general media will believe Stingray to be a bodyguard with armor created by Walt to protect and defend Hydrobase. Walt doesn't think of himself as a superhero, he still sees himself as a scientist. Once he starts fighting in an out of the ocean it will be hard to tell him he's anything other than a hero. Season 1 Summary: N/A Powers and Abilities (What can your character do? What can't they do?): Walt doesn't possess any powers of his own. He's one of the world's leading oceanographers and an inventor having engineered and helped construct what's frequently called Hydrobase. After an attack from a warrior of New Atlantis Walt developed the Stingray suit to defend himself that grants him several powers and abilities. The suit gives him great strength capable of lifting twenty-five tons and durability to survive the pressures of the deepest parts of the ocean as well as a unique oxygen diffusion system Booster jets are built into his boots and back harness to provide propulsion to swim at greater speeds as well as fly/glide on land. The suit's main weapon is a potent bio-electric blast emitted from the palms of the hands. The suit also has an internal communications system. Sample Story Arcs: Give 2-3 ideas on where you want to go with your character. Atlantis Attacks : Prince Namor is sent to deal with Walt and attacks Hydrobase several times. Eventually the two will become friends and Namor defies the Atlantian King calling off the attacks. Tiger Shark : Todd Arliss was once a rival oceanographer and shark specialist and the brother of Walt's girlfriend Diane. Arliss was told by the doctors he could no longer swim after he suffered a back injury, however Dr. Lemuel Dorcas promised Arliss he could help. Dorcas used his lab to imprint the genetic pattern of an animal onto a human. He'll use tiger sharks on Arliss, as well as the genetic pattern of the Atlantian warrior Stingray defeated transforming Todd into a super human with a hatred for Stingray. The Inhuman : Triton has wandered too far out into the world oceans and is lost until discovering Hydrobase. After a brief battle with Stingray, Walt discovers Triton is just looking for home. The two of them survive an attack from Atlantis on order of it's new King [Attuma], Lockjaw shows up at Hydrobase to take the Inhuman home. Sample Post: "Several weeks ago I'm pretty sure I stumbled onto undersea artifacts connected to the lost city of Atlantis. It became even clearer when a blue skinned man with gills came out of the water in some strange armor and tried to kill me..." Walt thought to himself as he walked around his Hydrobase lab and research center just off the shore of Staten Island, "I was only in the hospital recovering from the attack for two weeks, it's a wonder those blue skinned people didn't completely wreck the base..." he continued walking outside and to his boat dock. "Next time I'll be ready..." he thought, "Next time the Stingray will show those blue skinned Atlantians they're not the only ones with strength and power..." he continued thinking as he opened a storage compartment on his boat revealing his red and white suit. "The thrusters and ceratotrichia-like fins should make darting through the water as easy as swimming. They still need to be tested on land though... what the hell... why not go ahead and get the final testing out of the way?" he thought before pulling the suit out of the compartment. Walt stepped inside the 'Hydrobase' that he still hadn't come up with a suitable name for and stepped out looking like a red and white clad superhero. It was only the second time he had ever put on the suit having just finished it days earlier. Walt pushed a concealed button in the index finger of each glove and flexed his arms outward propelling his wing like appendages connecting to his legs. Thrusters ignited in his feet and the base of the ceratotrichia fins on his backpack like harness and he took to the sky. After several moments he pushed the tiny buttons again and the thrusters cut off leaving Stingray to glide in the air above the Atlantic Ocean. If only he had seen the blue skinned people of New Atlantis spying on him below... Fast forward another two decades. Eric is an award winning writer and researcher of Norse Gods and the mythology surrounding it. Days after Asgardians started appearing in NYC, Eric was approached by a man claiming to be an inventor hoping to mimic the weaponry of Norse Gods with modern tech. Leaving his seventeen year old son Kevin for a few days turned into Masterson disappearing for the entire month of August! Kevin was just getting settled into his new school, Midtown High, and had problems fitting in. Born in the south and living with his mother Marcy for the first sixteen years of his life and having a southern accent didn't help matters. The relationship with his super-nerd father was on the rocks to say the least since his mother passed away months earlier after giving custody to Eric. After being gone for nearly a month, his father showed up at their Queens apartment bloody and beaten clutching on to a backpack. His last words were 'only you and I can lift it...' before falling into a coma. While getting his father to the hospital, agents of AIM showed up at the apartment and grabbed what they thought was the backpack containing the weapon. In fact, they had grabbed Kevin's backpack loaded down with textbooks. Later that night, after leaving his father in the Mount Sinai Hospital, Kevin went home to discover the mace of power in the backpack his father had brought in. After activating the weapon it dropped to the ground and would not budge. That was until Kevin had found an ID scanner in the handle that scanned his thumb print. When the mace recognized him, the safeguard was removed and Kevin was able to lift the weapon. Minutes after that, Kevin was shocked when the agents of AIM returned. The young would-be hero managed to defeat the four men using the power mace much in the same way the Asgardians on tv had used their weapons. The mace seemed to generate and shoot blasts of lightning, when thrown had the striking power to knock a man through a wall, as well as the strange ability to return to Kevin's hand. With his father still in a coma, Kev forged a superhero identity for himself and did everything he could to find clues to lead him back to the mysterious agents of AIM when he wasn't going to school and living life as a stranger in a strange land. Powers and Abilities: Thunderstrike's powers all come from the mace also dubbed Thunderstrike. The weapon is the closest thing to Asgardian weaponry AIM could create and has several abilities, however nowhere near as powerful as the hammer of Thor. Powers include: * Lightning/Energy blasts - self explanatory * Dermal Force Field - when in hand, gives Thunderstrike limited durability * Flight - unlike Thor's hammer the mace doesn't need to be thrown/caught * Striking Power - imagine getting hit by a baseball thrown by a pro baseball player roughly 90 mph. Now turn that into a 50 pound hammer and imagine it with another 100 mph added to it's speed when thrown. Used like a regular hammer or club, it feels like getting hit by a 50 pound hammer LOL * Auto Return - when thrown it returns to sender when commanded. Voice activated. * Safeguard - when turned on, the mace drops to the ground wherever it is unless it recognizes the ID of Eric Masterson or his son Kevin. They are the only two people who can wield it as it is meant to be without resistance. Weaknesses include: * Safeguard Fail - when the mace is turned off, anyone can carry it around or use it to bludgeon somebody. A tech expert could crack the safeguard presumably and reprogram the mace. However most enemies don't know that there is an off switch. * Dermal Force Field Fail - if the mace isn't in Kevin's hand, he's as vulnerable as anyone in light body armor. Sample Story Arcs: Sins of the Father - Kevin continues to look for clues leading him to AIM while making a name for himself as a teen superhero. Bloodaxe - Thunderstrike follows clues to an underground testing facility where he comes face to face with AIM's Bloodaxe. This agent of AIM wields a similar weapon to Kevin's mace [a man-made Asgardian knock-off] with similar powers as well as a few of it's own. Champions/Defenders - Kevin will make friends in the teen superhero community and assemble a team to take down the splinter cell of AIM responsible for his father's current state. This leads the team into a confrontation with the Super Adaptoid! Important Notes: * In the comics Thunderstrike was originally Eric Masterson, a stand in for Thor at one time. * If something like the Champions doesn't happen in-game, Eric may wake up and claim the mace. * Kevin Masterson was originally Thunderstrike II in the MC2 universe, and had internalized the power of the mace. * This character concept is also influenced by Ultimate Thor.
