Hmm, I would like to point out that Randar specifically prevented a rampage that would lead to peoples deaths by calming everyone down... and I thought it would take more then that to kill the Behemoth.
Going to agree with KoL that Randar's skill probably dampened things, but wouldn't be able to negate panic completely. Two points of consideration are... Quantity: There's just too many people. If it were calming one or two I'm sure it'd be well within his power range, but if he can calm an entire crowd of people you might as well just throw him out to the front lines of every war and have the soldiers make love, not war~ xD Quality: If people were panicking over burnt toast or something, I could imagine things being a lot easier. But when death was staring you in the face only moment's prior, it's a bit harder to soothe. Also I imagine that the ability would be less effective if the hostility is directed at Randar himself. Sort of imagine it as two people brawling, and one of them going "Hey man, calm down" .... it doesn't work, and if anything inflames the situation. Furthermore the profile states that the power "Soothes" This means that it's a balance scale situation where there'll be a competition between the soothing power, and the contempt. It's perfectly possible for one to overpower the other, and it goes both ways.
Just my thoughts, I don't really care since I'm a fair distance away from the ruckus xD Actually like that actions result in consequences. It's great that people played hero and went along with things, but at the same time it's important to know that doesn't always result in positive results :P
