I'm doing the nerdiest thing possible and creating a fantasy language for fun. I'll be able to curse you all out without you knowing! I was going to do something unique and create a symbol for every syllable, but unless they have limited syllables they'd need an absurd number of symbols, although obviously with things to help memorization such as all symbols that start with the a sound have a certain part within the symbol. Now that I think about it, it's basically just jumbling letters together to save space. The language is for my primary fantasy setting I'll be working on and use characters from. It still has some issues I need to work out, such as using gravity magical gem thingies to lift fortresses. That's very difficult, but it seems super duper op when you realize they can drop a fortress into enemy formations, lift off, and do it again repeatedly. To lift massive objects does require a team of skilled magic users and high quality magical gems, though, so I guess it's not too prevalent besides when it's a game breaker when they use a large enough fortress. Well, if the fortress falls to an enemy then they loose a whole lot so you can say it's too risky to use them so casually. Still...
