Reiji hates the rain. To him, rain is a symbol of sorrow and sadness. It has the potential to be destructive in an instant or wear and wash away over torturous amounts of time. Kind of hypocritical since despite those feelings his demeanor comes off as solemn, reserved and unintentionally gloomy. Almost weary at times. However, this is due mostly to his mannerisms and doesn't accurately represent Reiji. He's soft spoken though he commands a level of confidence and nobility in his voice. Often he can be seen with his gaze downcast but rather than being genuinely despondent he is usually absorbed in his thoughts. Still, Reiji is no social butterfly and has a hard time connecting with others, even Raikiyome, his own zanpakutou who has pretty much the same disposition that he does. 

Reiji is a proud swordsman who despite his feelings about the rain is deeply appreciative of strength that his zanpakutou lends him. He couldn't imagine going into battle without a blade. Innovative and dedicated, he pushes his swordplay to new and interesting heights. The rare times when others can see Reiji with a smile is when he speaks about the art of the sword.

Overall, Reiji is a loyal and dependable individual. While he prefers to fight on his own and away from others, it is mostly to keep them from being caught in his shikai when the time comes for him to release it. Still, no matter how far he is from is allies he will swear to be there to fight for them. He has a strong sense of justice and actively pursues what he believes is right, all to diminish the amount of sorrow in this world.

[b]Shikai Special Ability::[/b]
Upon release heavy rain clouds gather and in seconds the area is engulfed in a heavy downpour. Reiji is granted manipulation of falling rain within the reach of his blade. Not only does this power enhance his swordsmanship but the heavy rain becomes a disadvantage to Reiji's enemies, making it harder to see as well as hindering other senses.

[b]Shikai Skills::[/b]
(NOTE: Seated Shinigami have up to 5 skills, Lieutenants and above can have all skills unlocked. Skills must also have cooldowns to prevent spamming) 
1. Sessaku Ame (Cutting Rain): Swinging his blade, the user gathers the rain that touches his sword and unleashes it as a high pressure water slash.
2. Isoide Ame (Rushing Rain): Placing the tip of the blade in the rain flooding the ground, the user guides the fallen rain into fast moving stream of water. This move can be used defensively or as a distraction.
3. Senshi Ame (Lancing Rain): The rain around the user's sword flows along the blade and as the user thrusts extends in order to pierce the target. This attack can be used as is or to double the reach of the user's blade. 
4. Dansu no Higasa (Dancing Parasol): The user creates a shield out of the water around that resembles a parasol that is able to absorbs above average reiatsu-based attacks. The user then hurls the rain parasol at the target as a spinning saucer with the added power of the absorbed attack.
5. Ōame (Heavy Rain): A massive amount of rain gathers behind the user's blade and with a heavy swing his brought down upon the target with crushing force, as if every raindrop had fallen upon them at once.

Chudan no Nagare (Suspended Flow): While performing a slashing attack the user switches the sword from one hand to the other mid-swing, changing the trajectory and the timing freely.
Toketsu to Nagare (Freeze and Flow): Swinging their sword in a parrying motion the user brings the sword to a sudden, ridid stop, colliding with the enemies' blade without budging and sending the kinetic energy from the user's blade to the opponents and through to their arm, numbing and paralyzing it for a short period.
Hansha (Reflection): Using [i]Isiode Ame[/i] to draw the opponent's eye, Reiji uses the rushing water to create a mirror image of himself and deceive the opponent as he attacks from the opposite direction.
Doko no Kawa ni Aimasu (Where Rivers Meet): Reiji shunpoes around the opponent using [i]Sessaku Ame[/i] from four directions, forcing the opponent to evade. As they do so and the attacks collide, Reiji moves in and gathers the water, launching [i]Sessaku Ame[/i] once more, albeit a larger and stronger version.
Naite Sora no Dansu (Dance of the Crying Sky): Matching his movements with sound of the falling rain, Reiji is able to make his approach silent and close in on an opponent almost undetected.
