[/quote] That's true too, although I've trained myself to look around at the closest person and bark out "go get help" or "clean that mess up before you slip and break your neck and then I have two patients to worry about" or "damn it Kevin, get out of the light!" But yeah, while it isn't protocol, if the person isn't coming out of the seizure in a few moments and it's all you have, you can do it. I just wouldn't recommend it, and it would be better to wait until they stop even if they are having a heart attack as the movements will make the defib think there is actually a VF heart rate and it won't do its zap as its one of the few rhythms that the mechine can't do anything for.
