She felt rather small from the second she had to first use the edge of the table as a boost to reach him to feeling herself being easily picked off as if she were a fragile child. But in the midst of it, Aksel managed to alarm the beast, catching him off guard and thus so engaging a choke hold moments before. She had speed, flexibility, and agility. He on the other hand had something she didn’t… “I like the sound of it.” She peaked a smile, excited, though it be rare to ever spot the Captain smiling. She was a stiff-posed creature and a worrier, but now, now things were piecing together. “My speed and your strength. Looking forward to working with you, Cu.” Aksel turned around and paced a few steps forward towards the door before stopping, “Cu, I trust you.” Aksel’s trust Cu earned it, he picked her up when she was down literally. But with her trust, there came accountability and potential sacrifices. Next on Aksel's agenda- the Lieutenant. Was Aksel disappointed that he had appeared absent in the meeting, yes, highly that was. In fact, you could edge closer to saying Aksel was more than agitated by it- infuriated. I swear, Laux, if I find you hung over... A cop committed to his booze, addicted to it. His alcoholism deteriorate dignity where in the past it has deteriorate a lot of many things Aksel dreads to recall. But she cannot forget the stranger who dodged a bullet for her, it is by luck he breathes. He is a miracle walking, or staggering and stumbling depending on how many drinks. But the fact that he were the only one to remain unattended of an urgent meeting brought Aksel storming down the corridors of the ship, headed to his quarters. Or so she had planned... Suddenly alarms, a dip to the ground with gain of a bloody nose that struck the surface first. The Excursionist rumbled and rocked with affection of a lone missile penetrating through its metal exterior. From then Aksel sighted rubble upon heat and flame tumble beneath the space once honing position of the lieutenant's quarters. "Lieutenant!? Lieutenant Caldera, come in Lieutenant!" Aksel barked the call through intermission of the com. No respond, but plenty of panic. "Laux!" Now using his first name, it was improper or Aksel to voice it verbally, yet this was who saved her life, it would only be fair justice to do the same. She attempted to crawl through the debris of the attack, listening to her emotions though it further put herself in danger. The others however, well, Aksel desired an immediate evacuation, "Nine!" Aksel switched the com to her Pilot. "Evacuate everyone now! Target the pods to the Nomad!" Aksel panted, trying to catch breath while unintentionally inhaling fumes from the fires. "The lieutenant, h-he's not responding! The rest of you are going to have to get going--- I'll be there ASAP with Caldera." This was Aksel's fault, or so she held the blame down in weight when it came to her conscience. Shutting the ship offline neutralized the radar, allowing hostiles- whoever they may be, the Council or scoundrels- to lead a successful wounding hit.
