I'm thinking of creating a role-play thread with the potential of it evolving into a few different threads. Here's my idea (it may or may not work, I'd love to have some input/ ideas) Thread One would be called 'The Tavern' The Tavern is a place to chat to other characters- here there is the opportunity to have whatever role-play you find easiest- some 1X1 role-play, casual role-play and in-depth conversations- a fairly easy-going thread. From this thread, other role-play threads would be created for the continuation of those tales once you have left The Tavern Thread Two, Thread Three, Thread Four etc. The players who leave The Tavern are then in control of the following threads they create. For example- Thread One- The Tavern People come and go as they please, here you can engage in casual conversation, order drinks, sit and people watch, play games, have bar brawls, chat up men/women, kick back and relax after a hard time at work, pop in before having to face the wife or just a meeting place of friends... etc Job adverts may be involved in this area too, e.g. a captain might enter The Tavern looking for a second mate or a gunner etc. As soon as you leave The Tavern (Thread One) and explore the characters/adventures further it would be moved into another thread (Thread Two) Thread Two- Tavern Tales, a pirates adventure Those that have been involved in the Tavern thread who might want to go on an adventure- sailing, setting up a life within the town/port. Once you have finished your RP in Thread Two, Three, Four etc (obviously you can continue as long as you wish in that thread if you want to) you have a choice of going back to the Tavern with that character or creating a new character to visit The Tavern etc Hopefully that all makes sense! I welcome any input people might have on this, I'm open to different ideas! I can give more clarification on how it would work etc if you need me to- feel free to either post questions on here or PM me! (The main point of this is that people can experiment with different characters without too much pressure of committing to a full length role-play, you could create a brash black-smith who comes in for a drink and then leaves, you can then re-enter with a shy sailor- the possibilities are endless) Just an idea I had that I would love to see come to life and I feel like it could suit different styles of Role-play...
