Ok, so I'm digging the gritty cyberpunk/technocropolis vibe. 

Whats the penal system like? (and yes, I just needed an excuse to use the word "penal"). I have a character idea that keeps her on the wrong side of the law almost all the time, because desperate times call for a lot of shit to go down, etc :) 

So how is punishment generally given out? Is it being locked up until you go crazy? Beaten on the street as an example to others that the MPs can't be screwed with? Is there a special prison for those with & without gifts, or are we all just thrown into a huge gladiatorial ring until the last man/woman/thing is standing and rewarded with cake? O.o
