Meta-Human Power:
Omnilingualism; Kwan can speak, write, understand and communicate in any language including computer codes, languages that have never been heard before, sign language (even lip-reading), illegible words, and backwards speech and writing:

Psychometry; Kwan obtains historical memories or sensations concerning beings and objects by touching them. With objects she gains the knowledge including the makers, users, and even those who have on passing used the object, and what has been done with it. With living beings or parts of the body she learns their general life-history, but doesn't gain anything of what they were thinking or feeling.

Weaknesses or Side-Effects:
 Kwan has trouble sometimes connecting with what she calls present time. When this happens her perception of the world isn't based on what is happening in real time but on what might have happened an hour, a day or a week ago. This usually only happens after prolonged use of her Psychometry ability.

3 second rule (Speed*): This is an explanation of how Retro actually perceives time and reacts to situations around her. Using what she jokingly calls the 3 second rule Kwan see's three seconds or there about into the future allowing her to dodge most if not all attacks or avoid events she wishes to.

Bus drives through puddle splashing everyone one sidewalk except Kwan because she stops outside of the effect, opens an umbrella or steps behind a person, pole or structure.

Gunman fires a machine gun at Kwan and by simply stepping before or behind the aiming point she avoids being hit)[/hider]

[hider=History]Kwan is originally from Hong Kong but moved to the US with her family when she was four years old.

She grew up in the city of Seattle's Asian community and discovered her talent for reading people, objects and places about her 14th birthday. But unlike most Meta her power was slow to build it's self to it's present point not fully realized till her 18th birthday. 

This slow growth and her power's lack of external effect allowed young Kwan to keep her ability a secret even cash in on making excellent grades and graduating collage with a degree in computer programing. 

She could have used her ability to become the world's greatest hacker or thief but instead became the west coast's most sought after pet detective within one year of getting her detective license and may have remained in obscurity if not for one of her cases crossing the trail of a major crimes case.

Kwan was on the trail of a lost dog so treasured by it's owner that there was a $ 15,000 reward on his safe return when while backtracking the wandering poodle she found herself suddenly surrounded by police searching for a missing child.

They drug her back to the house the child had come from to be confronted and questioned by the city detectives who'd made the front yard their temporary head quarters. There while waiting for the police to be satisfied by questioning her Kwan saw that earlier that morning someone in a white Lexus had carried out a little girl whom she prayed was asleep an put her in the back.

Later when the detectives questioned Kwan she answered their questions truthfully her record as a pet detective dismissing her as a suspect. She acted as if she were about to leave as the two city cops snickered and called her Ace and turned asking if anyone had reported a white Lexus at the scene because about the time of the kidnapping one had nearly run her over in a nearby alley drive. They perked up and then quizzed her on details which she gave including the tag number.

The car was the child's stepfather's who had said he was at work on the other side of the bay when it happened and Kwan's testimony lead to the discovery of his plot to ransom her before leaving a marriage already on the rocks; oh and Kwan also found the doggy.

Seeing that perhaps there was a way to conceal her power's from the authorities by using her ability sparingly Kwan soon branched out into skip tracing and missing persons cases.[/hider]
