I honestly don't see what's your complaint here. According to you,"They're exactly the same as what I had before, except slightly rewritten," in response to the proposed changes in your abilities. If that was truly the case then I doubt you'd be whinin over it cause any normal person would just probably interpret that as having them nerfed in some manner. But then again, I may be wrong, cause since it's you specifically, you're going to try to scavenge around for anything that looks helpful in order to argue a case that has been long since passed.
You have completely missed the point. What I brought up, clear as crystal in the post I'm starting to doubt you actually read, is that abilities that were the exact same as what I had are apparently okay now when presented by another player. When I was told to get rid of them entirely. In fact, yoshua even admitted that he just used the same things I already had, except slightly changing the presentation. One of the powers Yoshua presented is actually better than something I was told was OP. So yeah.
In response to the second paragraph, you didn't explain your skills in detail, so don't make me re pull up your cs again. Scratch that: Wait I thought you said you explained it in detail? Oops, I'm sorry, you're right, you did explain it in detail. But was that amount of detailed information sufficient? No. Despite the good amount of text you put down for the skill, it might as well have said "Supermman can fly" if this same amount of detail was applied to a Superman char. If you didn't realize it already, I'm saying your skills have detail, but just not in the way you meant it. Like I said in response to your char's third skill "how is that possible?". If a skill like this one requires me or any other normal person to hunt down the creator in order to properly understand it, then it's not very detailed(Unless in the rare or uncommon case it was super complex which it's not).
As stated in my latest post, that big reply to your first criticism to my character? I expanded upon every single ability in there, providing further detail and limitations as well as the reasoning behind them, both from a thematic and in-setting perspective to respond to the concerns about them. "I did it when I replied to the first message telling me to get rid of these things you're now telling me are fine", to quote myself. Care to go back and read them?
If you think it does, then it does apparently. I guess that would explain why everybody involved wasted time out of their day to gang up on you in the form of posts like these: Wait hopefully some of this helps? Oh I get. They're ganging up on you in secret, sneaky bastards xD I mean it would make total sense for them to do so since you're implying that you're being ganged up on like Zobozun for defending your character concept just like him right? Stopping with the blatant sarcasm, you're simply looking for silly reasons to rationalize why your char won't get accepted...when you should be looking directly at the stuff in front of you(I feel like I said this twice).
No, I said Zobozun was punished for being ganged up on, there's a difference. My own case, which was clearly stated from the start and what leads me to bring up bias when combined with Zobozun's case, is that abilities proposed by another player that are essentially identical to what I had are just fine, yet I'm told to get rid of them completely when I propose them. I have also repeatedly thanked Yoshua for his help and for being willing to actually talk things out to try and work the character concept in, from the start. I guess you missed that.
Oh wow!!! You just gave me the magic words to hammer the nail in the coffin!!! According to what you said in the highlighted quote, you admit that some of your powers are op(Or crossed the line if we're being technical). Despite that fact, in the very beginning of this nonsense, you had a rebuttal for each and every single skill I pointed out. What does that mean? That means you can be proven wrong...even to you. Not only that but by having a zealous mindset(You said it first, not me), you're at risk of being biased in favor of your cs regardless of the facts presented against it.
Yes, I can admit I'm wrong and change my mind and try to work with things and listen to other people who make a good point, hence me admitting it and taking suggestions from Yoshua. That's what being reasonable is. My rebuttals were explaining how the abilities worked, their limits, the reasoning behind them, how my character was limited in other ways and pointing out where I felt unfair comparisons were being made. After all, the character you compared mine to had a host of other abilities mine lacks. Do I still feel that way? Yes, but I am actually trying to make it all work, hence why I'm willing to admit I might have gone overboard. Yoshua suggested a more limited version of those powers as well. All of this doesn't change the point that other powers that I was told to get rid of completely are apparently fine when presented by someone else. Your statement also makes no sense. You say I'm at risk of being biased in favor of my own CS (as if people wouldn't be in favor of their own creation), when you're jumping on me for actively acknowledging I can be wrong.
Honestly, I'm starting to get annoyed by your responses. Like every single time recently, it's always you complaining and it just so happens that it's about the same exact thing. Like why? Both me and Phobos who are two gms gave you the final say, yet you are still yapping on about it? Nearly everyone who has read it and voiced their opinion agreed that your char's op. I also went as far as having your skills looked at by two retired rpers(One who trained me(Or tried at least)) that wanted to vote in your favor solely to piss me off. You know what one of them said while looking at your Yaiba skill? They was like" It's not that bad," stopped talking suddenly just to make sure he read it before saying,"What dafuq?".
I haven't been complaining of late, I've been talking with another player that offered help on how to make the abilities work. You can check if you'd like. A third player said these abilities (many of them stuff I already had as admitted by yoshua, remember?) were good and I should take them. My point, I repeat once again just in case, is that these things I already had and was told were no good are apparently fine when presented by someone else. I'm sure bringing up anecdotal evidence provided by aquaintances of yours sounds well and good to you but it doesn't change that you hadn't criticised that particular power before, it was apparently just fine. Nor that it hasn't really been touched up on at all and that I'm not trying to make it better or worse. In fact that particular ability is nowhere near the point. You're bringing up something that was just fine before and no one was talking about.
"and the only help I received after asking for it several times came from another player." And don't give me or anyone that sorry excuse for help cause it was a complaint in reality. You think merely because you asked a question, it's asking for help? I'm not stupid, I know exactly what asking for help is and it's surely not that. Even if that was considered asking for help, I did you with my rebuttal which was basically me saying "broaden your horizons" in order to expand your sense of creativity. Was that not sufficient for your interpretation of the word help? Well maybe you should've been more direct with what you wanted help with. Besides, I said this at the end of my last response "Also, like I mentioned, you can always ask me or one of the gms for help and we can try to provide some innovative stuff for you char." so that's on you if you didn't get the help you needed. Though I know there's no way in hell you'll see reason in this post, I hope for your sake you do. I'm out and goodnight Zero ^-^
You offered to help several times so I asked you how you would go about making the character work, since you'd know what would be acceptable with the same gimmick being the guy in charge and all, and then you refuse to respond or provide any manner of help, leaving me to talk about it with another player. I was extremely direct in asking for help, I presented the type of character I was going for and asked how you would get it passed. You quoted it yourself. Yoshua took that and actually, actively helped. What reason in your post? You completely failed to grasp the simple point I made (to wit: several of the abilities Yoshua presented that are apparently just fine are exactly what I was told I couldn't have, hence my call of bias) and continue to contradict yourself, saying I'm not open to reason when you jumped to point out I admitted I was wrong and have actually spent several posts now working with another player to get my character approved.
[@Zero Hex] Annnd this is the first and last time I'm going to step into this conversation. So~ I'm going to get right to the point which I assume you already know by now, but I'll explain myself a little first. So Zero, it's clearly obvious your original Zanpakuto idea wont get accepted, not in this Bleach Roleplay anyway. However even if we applied heavy nerfes to it...it wouldn't be the Zanpakuto it once was, thus you would not be happy...I'm going to assume here and say you wont be happy with any Zanpakuto that isn't your original idea, thus if you got accepted with one that wasn't...you'd be unhappy, and that would in turn make you unhappy with perhaps the GM's, maybe even the other players but most of all you'd be unhappy in the Roleplay. Now you can argue this but I can clearly see how this would affect your time if you were to go any further in this RP and I have a few simple things to say to you. Is this all worth it? Is it actually worth going through all of this just to get into this Roleplay? I'm sure you've got a big headache from all this and feel pretty sick and tired...and at that point wouldn't it be better to just walk away? No point continuing on in something you don't enjoy. I mean it's pretty basic common sense to not go through with something you don't want to do unless the benefits are great. I don't see great benefits from all this... Now I can get to the final point. I don't want arguing about this, I want you to just walk out of the RP and be like "well it was at least worth the shot" so it didn't go well...shit happens, we didn't accept your idea...move on. I can guarantee you that you wont get along with us (The GM's) and even some of the other players, so for your sake and our sake...I have to tell you to leave the RP. I don't want to use the word "kick" but you know what I mean.
Again, I've been trying to make it work, someone else provided suggestions and you accepted them. The issue isn't the changes on the suggestions, it's that several are functionally identical to stuff I was told was too powerful. Do you see how I might feel annoyed when I'm told to get rid of something another player has passed with no problem? I felt I should point this out to you, because someone else might actually feel offended. I assure you, however, that I haven't got a headache, I quite enjoyed talking to Yoshua about gimmicks and powersets and making them fit in a setting and game both, it's fun nerdy discussion. But yes, perhaps it's best you kick me, no? And you should use the word kick, because that's what you're doing and there's no shame in that. You haven't attacked me, you haven't really done any serious wrong to me, your post is civil and my reply to you is civil. I just feel as though I was not treated fairly, I'd like to think unwittingly, and thought I'd point it out because I can sit here and talk about it, others might actually be affected by it. Don't take it as an argument from my part, but do consider it. And consider how when I'm feeling as though I'm not being treated in the same way as everyone else, your first reaction is to kick me. So, you all have fun now, I assure you it wasn't as terrible for me as you think it was. No hard feelings, at least from my part.
