This was a crucial time some time as of now they were under attack so they needed to be quick on their feet and act quickly. Probably her due to her strict mentoring for times like this but Byrnhild did not want to waste time. Still the situation quickly became unfavorable sure it was a trap but couldn't  there have been a alternate solution than this?
