For the purposes of the story, the Omega Amp was invented about 70 years ago, and didn't see widespread use (re:Weaponization) until about 65 years ago.  The Genres officially took over the world about 50 or so odd years ago.

Like I said in the intro, the people behind Locksley Records remember what it was like before the Genres took over, so you could imagine that some of the senior staff have been around for 50 or more years at least.
