Teddy smiled as she handed the woman her espresso to go. "Hey Teddy!" The girl turned around at the sound of someone calling her name, wisps of blonde hair framed her face as she turned her head to rest her blue-grey eyes on the boy that had called out to her. "Some of us are going out tonight. Wanna join?" Teddy gave the young man her sweetest smile and shook her head. "The nurse leaves at six and I have to be home at six-thirty. Sorry guys." She shrugged her shoulders and returned to her work. She felt a hand slap her shoulder followed by an arm wrapping around the back of her neck. "Awww come on Teddy, can't you just ask the nurse to stay with the old bat-" Her blue-grey eyes turned to stone, her smile faded, and her voice grew darker as she said, "She may be old, but she is still my mother. I said no." The boy backed off muttering something about being a stuck up bitch, but Teddy didn't care. She just wanted to get through her shift and go home to her cat Misty. She was just about to remove her apron when a boy walked in. He walked to the counter, ordered a hot chocolate, then sat in the back. The girl Teddy was working with begged her to stay just a minute longer to give the strange guy his drink then she could leave. Teddy sighed and agreed. The girl never caused trouble for Teddy and it was on her way out anyway. When the drink was done, Teddy walked over to the table. "You ordered a hot chocolate right?" She placed the drink down and started to walk away. Then she noticed that there was something off about the guy so she took a step back. "Sorry. Are you blind?" She reached for his hand to guide him to the mug full of hot liquid. "I'm reaching for you hand now. I don't want you to spill the drink, it's pretty hot." She spoke softly so as not to startle him.
