An easy way to expand the personality would be to have the cancer situation affect him in some way, and then go more in depth about it in the history too, also some dislikes would be good too. Little things that don't need mentioning in the history like, say he hates golf. It's boring to him and he's passionate about how terrible golf is. Stuff like that.
