The Seen and Unseen Meet
Collab between myself, Grimeagle4, and LetterA Summary: A meeting between two Demigods with extremely different pasts at the Hermes cabin. What will be brought up?
After finishing his tour with Aiden and Julia, Daniel proceeded to the Hermes dorm to put down his things, and to catch his breath. "Jeez," Daniel sighed as he entered, "this camp is way bigger than the satyr told me. We were walking for an eternity..." Daniel entered the building and looked around, he saw many things that seemed themed after the Greek god, and a large number of sleeping areas for people. "Guess this really is the place for the unclaimed. I guess this is the part where I wonder who the daddy is." Daniel continued to mumble and chuckle to himself as he accidentally ran into another camper. With nothing on him other than the clothes on his back, Isa followed after Rachel, who toured him into the cabin. It was your typical gatherin of kids with no parents to claim em-- bondin or lookin broody. Christ, what was the point in runnin away if he was gonna land right back? Just as he was setting his stuff down-- his stuff being himself, given he'd nothin but the clothes on his back-- someone ran into him, causing him to fall back. It was bound to happen, given how condensed the bunk was, but still hurt given all the bruises and burns. "Fuck," he groaned, long hair sticking to his still sweat ridden face, "Watch where ya goin mayb--" Glancing up, he found a taller, older teen that'd bumped into him. If his last orphanage taught him anything, it was that seniority was more important than age, and right now, Isa was hurting on both ends. Looking away, he pulled back, not really fit or in the mood to get in a scuffle. "Sorry m'bad yo, didn't watch myself." Daniel looked at the person he just ran into, looking down he shugged, "It's my bad," he said with a shy smile, "I was the one not looking. So, you a daughter of Hermes, or are you new here too?" Daniel finished his statement by holding his hand out for the young girl he ran into, hoping to make a better impression than just nearly running them down like a car versus a deer. He talked weird. Well, no weirder than anyone he'd met that day, and even though Aiden said he wasn't dead, Isa still totally felt like he was. Fuck, who was Hermes again? The Rachel girl literally just told him, too-- "Uh, I'm new," Isa spoke up, accepting the hand and pulling himself up, forgetting to correct the older teen on his gender as his mind continued to race. Given the way the guy said 'too', Isa assumed that the seniority barrier between them was near nonexistent. "Who's uhm, Hermes again? And uh, I'm Isa, just. Just so it's out there." "Name's Daniel," Daniel responded shyly, quickly collecting himself and trying to apear more... collected he continued with, "and I'm pretty sure Hermes is the god of... well, Aiden mentioned travelers I think, so that's why all of us who are still 'parent-less' are here." Daniel proceeded to look over Isa more, now that he was calmer. He noticed that she had quite nice hair, and was fairly younger than him. "So," Daniel began once more, trying to keep the converstation going, "what's your story?" "Travelers," Isa repeated, nodding his head. Better word than orphans, that's for sure. He tucked his hair behind his ear as he caught his bearings, leaning against the wall behind him as though trying to make himself smaller. It wasn't too hard, given his size in comparison to the bunk's, but still. At the mention of his story, Isa couldn't help but laugh awkwardly, placing his arms behind his back as support. "Uh, I ran from home with a coupl'a kids," he started, unable to help but smile at how kinda fucked the whole thing was, "Got into a car crash and had a goat-- ah, no, satyr-- lead me here where I met a hor-- where I met uhm, Chiron... and I guess now we're here." He decided not to mention he thought he was a hundred percent dead or this was some kinda fucked lucid dream while he was hospitalized, on the off chance that he'd make his own hallucinations think he was insane. Wait what? Shit, he was overthinking this. He shifted his attention back to Daniel, reaching for the burnt part of his hairs and awkwardly fingering them, as though trying to distract himself. "Uh, you? Any g-- satyrs in ya life?" "Well, I met one and he led me here..." Daniel began, quickly realizing that he didn't have much of a story to tell in that reguard. He forgot that his trip here was quite quiet, possibly because of the power the satyr mentioned Daniel may have. "To be honest my story is pretty boring if you're looking for something fun or exciting. I grew up with everyone constantly forgetting me." Daniel ended that line with a sad smile as he shuffled a foot against the floor. He then picked his head up and with a quick laugh continued with, "Hell, I can't tell you how many times people forget mid conversation and just start walking away. It's always awkward for me when they're saying something and then 'POOF' it's like the conversation never happened and I'm alone again." Daniel proceeded to walk over and lean against the same wall as Isa, stretching himself as far as he could to relieve his muscles. "So yeah, guess you're talking to the invisible man, the satyr said it was my power or something, but it's more like a curse..." Daniel tried to laugh that phrase off, but he was feeling like it wasn't working, so he tried to end on a positive note, "but hey, at least it seems everyone in this camp can remember me." "Yeah no, trust, you're memorable enough," said Isa, who gathered Daniel's full appearance and could fit him easily with a circle of edgelords back home. His cheeriness was a plus, but Isa still probably wouldn't have hung out with him. Except, it was different now, he wasn't the kid who'd been at the home for a while, he was a new kid in a new place and, well, he had to make nice with anyone who was on the same boat. Even this guy. The thing about people forgettin him was kinda hard to believe, but what wasn't? "I uh, haha, bein forgotten, that'd be cool," Isa muttered under his breath, furrowing his brows as he debated on telling his problematic shit to some guy he literally just met, deciding instead not to. It wasn't good when kids you didn't know had shit on you, cuz then they'd play you and Isa wasn't about that. "Must be neat then, people rememberin you here," said Isa, changing the topic and nodding his head, "Makes you wanna stay and shit right?" Was that awkwardly said? Yeah that was awkward. "Hell yeah," Daniel said brightly, "being able to hold conversations is actually really weird. But hey, I'm not going to complain... well maybe I will, like I said, I'm new to this whole thing, so it'll take some getting used to, especially not having to remind people of my name mid conversation" Daniel, then looked down at the girl, wondering to himself if she still remebered his name. He then banished the though because he felt if he could remember people who he spoke to, other "normal" people should have the issue either. "So... what are you planning to do for the summer." Daniel said shyly, "I've never been to camp, especially with other people around. How does one 'chill with friends'... wait... crap, I don't have friends." Looking down at Isa he let out an awkward cough and nervously began, "D-do you... want to be my friend? Realizng what he said, Daniel exploded saying "Oh God, I sound like a children's special!" Eesh. Havin to remind people your name sounded like a struggle-- but Isa wasn't one to talk. Maybe he'd prefer it over guys callin by name him on his way to church even though he barely knew em. Wow, if he and Daniel combined they'd probably make a decent person-- uh, not that he was gonna say that it'd be weird. "I don't really... I've never been to like---" he got caught off guard by the sudden question, a blush of embarassment covering his cheeks. Holy!!!!! Shit!!!!! This guy was awkward as fuck, and Isa's red sirens were blazing like crazy but wait, fuck, think this over, this is literally the best shit you got right now, and it's better to have one dorky friend as opposed to havin no friends, especially in an orphanage. Or, uh. Traveler's center. Coughing his embarrassment away, Isa voiced, "Dude, don't.... ask anyone to be ya friend like that." Tugging at his hair, he looked away, not really wanting to make eye contact at the moment, answering, "But, uh, yeah. I mean, we can be friends. Lesson one, don't ask people to be ya friend." Daniel couldn't believe it, he just made a friend. This whole situation was definitely ridiculous. There were magical creatures, there were gods, he was at a camp for super powered teenagers. All of that strangeness was definitely worth it now, because Daniel officially had a friend, who wouldn't forget him... well, not in the middle of a conversation anyways. Later, when Isa wasn't looking, Daniel made sure to write down his first lesson in his notes. "Don't be straight forward about friend making," Daniel mumbled as he wrote those words into his notes, making sure to mark it clearly so he would neither forget nor lose the important information.
