[@Ophidian] Hmm... well I can tell you that trainer registries are not as protected as you think. I remember during the Sinnoh League that trainers had pretty much direct access to the data of other Trainers via PC. I could probably work with you and help develop something that he could be after if all else fails. I'm saying this because it is canon within the Pokemon Anime and such.

And I completely get trying to show off your character's backstory in a unique and interesting way. I like to promote creativity for my RPs as much as possible, but to a certain extent to where it still makes a good amount of sense for the RP.

And again, there's at least one museum in Viore that is sure to have lots of ancient artifacts that could go for lots of money on the black market. Those would be extremely well guarded. Then there is that data that would be useful to those within Viore as well... even Royal Skies. They may have specialists, but whose to say they won't buy it?

And actually... Royal Skies might not be what it appears... I will say nothing more!

So there's lots of options, and I thought of one myself. You said he left Kanto to escape the heat, maybe he had to lie low for a while or something, but ends up getting mixed up in something bigger than he's ever been in before. I'll try to help you out as much as I can, as long as you want some.
