I'm not trying to instigate trouble by attacking your homebrew. What I am simply trying to do is just understand how it works. So, no just saying you use an RNG isn't satisfactory. As an avid player of this genre or whatever you call it, my like of it involves the game part that involves interacting with the mechanics. And my expectations when seeing a game in the tabletop section is to have all the mechanics and stuff laid down clearly, because the mechanics is what makes a tabletop game regardless of whether it's super heavy on numbers or is narrative focused. And to play you need to learn the rules like any other game. For me, the problem is the lack of transparency in regards to the mechanics and solely relying on the GM to dictate results is functionally the same as having no mechanic as you can't really objectively gauge actions as a player and it becomes GM fiat. I understand your wish and concern to streamline and work the mechanics in a fashion that they are not obstructive to players that new and or don't care that much about the mechanics. However I feel that just hiding how everything works isn't the best way to go about it. Hopefully you can understand where I'm coming from, if not then while unfortunate that's fine. Anyway like I said I'm trying to intentionally cause trouble here and hopefully we can resolve this and if not than I'll just leave.
