It was odd to think that a wild animal could be tamed by nothing more than a little food. Shiro could have been previously owned by another, and from there abandoned. If it was as simple as Felix described it, then there had to be some purpose for Shiro taking to him so easily. The worlds outside of China were far, far different than what she was used to. Wrapping her head around a fox just joining with someone so easily was a matter she didn’t want to dwell on any further. She’d have to meditate all day on it. “I see,” Lin nodded her head. She stood up and looked to the entrance back inside. “I believe it is almost time to head to class. I have this cup I need to rinse and return. We can meet again there, okay?” Lin couldn’t leave a dish dirty, and the last thing she wanted to do was arrive to class late over it. Hoping he understood, she hustled past Shiro and Felix, looking over her shoulder to wave. “See you again shortly!” she said with cheer, before disappearing with staff and cup in hand, heading for the kitchens. Despite her status as a newcomer to this academy, she had memorized the layout of the place enough to know where the essential areas were. Finding the kitchen again was not difficult. Practically bouncing on her feet with a warm smile to herself, she slowed herself once she heard voices in the kitchen. Fellow peers. Possibly new friends to make. ‘There simply isn’t enough time to enjoy a good conversation!’ she thought. Entering inside, her eyes looked from peer to peer; a small, quiet girl who appeared to be doing her best to remain invisible, a boy, and one more girl who appeared to have bed hair. Not only that, but a bun seemed to have lodged itself within her cleavage. Lin found herself peering at her own chest. That sort of thing wouldn’t be possible for her. Before she could dwell on her imperfections, her eyes returned forward, smile present. “Good morning!” She said, bowing her head to no one in particular. “My name is Meilin, but just Lin is fine.” She raised herself back up. “Class is soon, so there isn’t much time to get to know all of you, but I hope to do so over the course of our training!” Moving towards the sink, Lin gently placed the used cup inside, then ran water across its dirty surface and interior. Releasing her staff, it stood upright without her support once again, allowing her to take a nearby rag and soap to clean the cup thoroughly. Good thing Han told her about plumbing, or she’d be really surprised about all this.
