Violet Black

Violet watched as more people showed up. For the most part, they all looked to be about as confused as she was. One girl seemed rather annoyed about being there, and another sounded like she knew the boy addressing them all. Violet was about to respond with her own name after the boy introduced himself as Aiden when he mentioned that he was the son of Kronos. She remembered hearing that name somewhere before, either from Johnathan or in one of her old textbooks. The girl didn't have much time to dwell on this, because she caught the word "Demigod" in what Aiden was saying, as well as "people like us". Again, she didn't get much of a chance to contemplate what he meant by that before he finished his exchange with the irritated girl and pulled a coin out of his pocket. The purple haired girl's eyes widened as the coin slowed in mid air, and she found herself slowed as well, hardly able to move. When she blinked, it happened very slowly. Once the trick was over, she didn't know what to say. That was... real. Right? Johnathan had made her study philosophy for the past two years, so she had read a lot about reality and how people perceive it, but that honestly wasn't helping at all. She thought it had to have been real, since everyone just watched it happen. But to control time, wasn't that impossible? Aiden had said his father was the Titan of time, did that mean they were all children of a titan or something? The boy had also mentioned Olympus, which Violet remembered was the home of the Greek Gods, not titans. This was all quite confusing. As she listened to Aiden talk about claiming and Godly Parentage, some of Violet's questions were answered, but she still didn't know if this was all real. The whole time control thing had been extremely convincing, but it was all so hard to believe. She noticed how fatigued Aiden looked after his trick, which meant that whatever he did had physically impacted him. She finally decided that this had to be real. The girl who had seemed so annoyed earlier looked to be skeptical about the whole thing. Another girl pointed out the dragon on the hill, as well as- Violet stopped mid-thought, staring at the serpent by the tree. That was a dragon. An actual, tangible dragon. As the girl continued to point out other things, they only further justified the whole situation. When Aiden mentioned a tour, Violet followed him along with the others, fascinated to learn more about this place, as well as about what she might be able to do. When picturing a Greek God, a leopard-print Hawaiian shirt had not been part of the image. Violet looked at Dionysus as the group walked past, and was startled that she had understood part of what the so-called God had said. She had only taken a year of Latin in school, and yet could interpret what he had said. Maybe that was one of her powers? Or perhaps it was just something all children of gods, or as Aiden had said, Demigods, could do. When they moved on to the cabins, she enjoyed looking at the differences in how each one was set up. She tried to see if any of them caught her eye as possibly belonging to her. The girl looked towards the Hermes cabin when Aiden pointed it out. He was right, it did look very crowded. Other campers were lounging around, and she heard something shatter inside, followed by laughter. Just like in the orphanage she thought. That had been the worst part, having so many people in one place. She liked people, but sometimes they could be very loud and have no regard for personal space. Hearing Aiden's offer for a stay in his cabin, Violet held up her hand. "Hey, I'd like to stay there." Her voice was soft, almost velvety, and yet sound and confident. She noticed a few snow flakes fall, and smiled. Snow was nice. Walking with the group in the direction of the dining pavilion, she could smell the food in the distance, and realized how hungry she was.
