He was born in Hong Kong and moved to the United States when he was only nine months old. Unfortunately he lost his mother at the age of two due to illness. He's never really had a mother figure and his father had always been a drunkard. They hoped moving to America would help straighten him up but once his mother died, his father started to abuse him. Because of this, he learned to become a great actor. He convinced everyone that his bruises were from horsing around with other kids on the playground, and his smile didn’t say otherwise. After five years, his grandmother finally found out and urged his father to let him live with her and her husband back in Hong Kong. Nick's father knew what he'd been doing was wrong and for his safety, agreed. When Nick was nine, his grandfather passed from old age. His grandmother had minor depression but his crazy dance moves and corny puns always put a smile on her face. Every morning she’d wake up to a joke and go to bed at night after a small performance from Nick. She saw that he developed a passion for dancing and began saving money to enroll him in a school of arts, hoping to enhance his skills. Luckily, he had relatives in Seoul, South Korea who would willingly take him in. His aunt and uncle owned an ethnic restaurant run solely by family.
