Lewellyn's birth coincided with his father's return, dragging in a dead deathclaw matriarch, one of the Powell family's best outings for around thirty years. Lewellyn's grandfather saw this as a good omen, making it his responsibility to teach the boy the family trade. For eleven years the old man taught the talented boy every nuance of hunting and cooking the Powell family knew. When the boy was 17 he and his family fought against a horde-like mass of super mutants, out of the terrible conflict the young man was the only survivor. Since then he's made a name for himself as both a terminal tackler and a talented hunter, publicly showing his hatred of super mutants at the same time. After travelling around the eastern half of America for thirty seven years the Commonwealth Carver has made one constant companion, a mutated Airedale Terrier he calls the Old Compatriot, or Ol'Com, a dog he just found had been following the hunter for a week, finally deciding to keep the almost adorable thing around:

Elias was told of Florida about five months after Ol'Com, and of the mutants that lived in it... It sounded like the perfect place to both hunt and conduct two new hobbies; Treasure Taking and Scavenging, which oddly enough isn't too difficult when a hunting rifle makes a reasonable substitute for a bobby pin in emergencies... or a bomb if it's a serious emergency.
