Shep was just about to the point of deciding he was going to zone to see if he could find out what their final goal was. His hesitation up till now had been only that he didn't like to "cheat" during anything he considered a "training exercise"
Fortunately, the one named Katherine noticed something before he had made up his mind whether to cheat or not.
